Name That STAR TREK Episode...

Thanks for good game. I'll start the next game later today when I have more time. Stay tuned.

Happy Labor Day Weekend.

I'll say "Assignment Earth".

1. I always wondered why the Enterprise was there jeopardizing the fate of mankind just for the sake of historical research.

2. Not sure, but this is one episode where we have an actual phone in operation. Surprisingly, Kirk says "give me the phone" as if he is familiar with this ancient corded device.

I have little love for Beta Five snobbery. Super guess, but not the one I have in mind.

3rd Clue: I think Spock is lying.

How about "The Menagerie" and if I have to pick one episode, I will pick "Part 1".

1. The starbase personnel are wondering why the Enterprise changed course and arrived there.
2. Kirk thinks they received a call to go there
3. All evidence points to Spock lying about receiving orders to go there. In fact, he was lying. Spock lied another time when he said he was incapable of lying, but that is another matter.

Clue #1 In this episode we have a group of people with a name that sounds similar to an advanced weapon, yet their only weapons are like plows beaten into swords. Well, that metaphor is an exaggeration as they are not really modified at all. But, the tool has a name more appropriate for a weapon, since its name is death.

Clue #2 I usually choose episodes randomly, but this time I chose an episode in honor of Labor day, which was celebrated yesterday in the United States.

Yes, that is correct. You are the winner once again Henoch.

The rebelling workers are called "disrupters" which sounds a lot like "distruptors". They have no weapons but for their cavern implements which happen to be called "mortae" which basically means death.

Your turn Henoch.

I'll get the ball rolling with "Mudd's Women". Needing dilithium crystals, while stuck in orbit, is a little like having a dead car battery in the middle of nowhere.

Wrong on two accounts: 1. not the episode; and 2. what's a dilithium crystal?

2nd Clue: Our main man doesn't even care.

1st Clue: Broken down on the side of the road.
2nd Clue: Our main man doesn't even care.
3rd Clue: Our second man is preoccupied.

4th Clue: Yes, there is a third man, and he's distraught.

"A Piece of the Action"

Why?

1. Because the planet has roads and there is potential for something to be broken down, like the lights.
2. There are at least three relevant bosses on the planet. The first one does not care that the lights are out, even though the people pay their dues. And, "preoccupied" and "distraught" are not hard to fit to 'other' bosses. (note that I said "other" with the Kirk mob accent)
