Looks like a game from the Commodore 16/20/64 or Amstrad 464 game era.
Ya it was out for the C64 as well as one of my favs from the old days on my Atari 800.
Ok it's a stab in the dark but is it Blue max......(i'm going by the hanger and the bi plane, and that's the only game i can remember similar to this one).
