Exactly, Riker's remark that they shouldn't second guess themselves and not change their course until they have a reason to is just stupid. THAT'S WHAT LED THEM INTO THE TIME LOOP THE FIRST TIME AROUND!!!
His remark should have been: "We should do something different from what we would have done without the info. that we're in a time loop!"

Correct, I was thinking of two parters as one episode though so either Gambit is acceptable.
Clue 1 has to do with the way Picard kills Baran, by wiring his pain remote to switch his own transponder with Baran's.
Clue 2 has to do with Picard saying outright "Oh what a tangled web we weave..."
I'm guessing possibly The Ensigns Of Command?
That has already been guessed. You need to look for the last one near the end of the thread.
I don't have a lot of great ideas for that first clue, but I'll guess Timescape? Good thing they weren't trying to board the warbird.
