Our first proposal was pretty close to it, for which reason Marco rejected it! The universes coincide in some interesting ways, still, I think, though the actual stories are very different.

I think I'll have to get this book. The Tears of Eridanus sounds really cool, and The Embrace of Cold Architects and Honor in the Night sound pretty interesting too.

Nils is a Danish or Swedish variant of Nicholas. Mr. Baris's parents used a variant spelling, but that's understandable given the passage of centuries; that's how new names come about in the first place.
