Myriad Universes: Shattered Light - The Cover

they all sound good, but i think i'm particularly looking forward to Tears... I sense parallels (sorry) to A Less Perfect Union. which was my favourite story... no pressure...

Can't wait to read this book, I hope that Pocket will continue this line. After a barren year of trek books this plus Typhon Pact will give me plenty to do over the Christmas holidays!

Our first proposal was pretty close to it, for which reason Marco rejected it! The universes coincide in some interesting ways, still, I think, though the actual stories are very different.

I think I'll have to get this book. The Tears of Eridanus sounds really cool, and The Embrace of Cold Architects and Honor in the Night sound pretty interesting too.

Of course the one day I don't check, the descriptions go up. As for the descriptions all three of those sound awsome.
In order of interest level, I'd go:
The Tears of Eridanus
Honor in the Night
The Embrace of Cold Architects

THE EMBRACE OF COLD ARCHITECTS.[/B] “Mister Worf—fire.” With thosewords, William T. Riker defeated the Borg—and destroyed Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Now, a heartsore Captain Riker must carry on the legacy of thecommanding officer and friend whose death he ordered. But crises face him at every turn, from Cardassian aggression to the return of Data’s creator, Noonien Soong. But it is Data’s creation of a daughter, Lal, that may prove to be everyone’s undoing. . . .

Ahh, so it's an alternate TNG with Riker as captain after BoBW.

THE TEARS OF ERIDANUS. Commander Hikaru Sulu of the Kumari—finest ship of the Interstellar Guard, the military arm of the Interstellar Union that includes Andor, Earth, and Tellar—is sent to rescue an observation team on a primitive desert planet. The world has many names—40 Eridani A-II, Minshara, T’Khasi, Vulcan—and its savage natives have taken the team hostage, including Sulu’s daughter, Demora. Even as Captain Sulu negotiates with the fierce T’Pau, Demora meets the elderly S’oval, and with him the only hope for the planet’s future. . . .

I see what Steve meant about the most distant divergence point. Apparently Surak's reforms never happened here?

HONOR IN THE NIGHT. Former Federation president Nilz Baris has died. After losing Sherman’s Planet to the Klingons thanks to poisoned quadrotriticale, the agriculture undersecretary parlayed that defeat into years of political battles with the Klingon Empire, and eventually the Federation’s highest office. Now, the Federation News Service wants the story of his life, a quest that digs up many secrets—including the mystery of why his final words were “Arne Darvin.”

Holy Rosebud, Batman! It's Citizen Baris!

Maybe Lal never died in "The Embrace of Cold Architects" and that started the divergence. Wonder if Shelby will still be the first officier. Could be a really good story.

Have to say I love all the titles.

This sounds awesome! Can't wait to read about Captain Riker in 2367 and how he deals with giving the order to kill one of his best friends...

Thanks for the synopsis I'm definitely looking forward to finally getting to read all these stories.:techman:

Just wanted to chime in to say I really loved the first two volumes, and can't wait for the third.

Wherein I reveal that Baris's middle name was indeed "Foster."

Holy shit!

That's pretty funny. :)
