Myriad Universe?

I'm not liking that cover too much. It does seem real bland and kinda lazy, like they couldn't take the time to get an artist to do something so they photo shopped it.

Which is the sort of thing you do with temporary solicitation covers that are only meant as stand-ins for the real thing. I'm sure the real cover will be more interesting.

What Christopher said. It's a temporary cover that was slapped together quickly in order to get the book in the catalogue. Happens all the time. The actual cover on the actual book won't be that, so who cares?

I was under the impression that this was going to be the final cover.

Object lesson in why you should read the whole thread. :) From previous posts in this here topic:

Amazon.com shows what seems to be the Final Cover for Infity's Prism:

No, that's just the solicitation cover. I know for a fact Marco was working on putting a final cover together as of last month.

Yep. I think he said he was soliciting artwork from John Picacio, the same guy who is doing the Terok Nor covers (and who had previously done the Crucible covers).

It is odd, though, that Amazon somehow got hold of a color version of the dummy promo cover and opted to put it on the site. I sincerely hope it's not an indication that the planned cover art fell through.

No, just an indication that Amazon are still useless when it comes to telling the difference between promo and finalised covers. Heck, they get dates, titles and everything else wrong with some books, why not covers?

Indeed. That's the solicitation cover (which was produced in color, it was just printed in the catalogue in b&w). Last I heard, John P.'s artwork wasn't finished yet.....

More than one Month has passed, anything new on this topic? Cover, contents, anything? Come on, don't let us starve longer here....:(

I wonder if the bulk of this kind of stuff is being held back until the NY Comic-Con and the "preview" they'll be doing?

I hope that at the New York's comic con we'll be getting more news about the upcoming Star Trek book series releases. Hopefully we'll get news about Myriad Universe and the Destiny series too.

^ I believe that'll be the case. If they follow pattern from previous years, they'll unveil cover art that's not yet been shown, as well as offer info on forthcoming releases. Along with giving away samplers with excerpts from books coming out later in the year, it should prove to be a fun panel.

Well, the contents have been out there for a while now. And there's going to be an excerpt of A Less Perfect Union in the next issue of Star Trek Magazine. And like Geoff said above, ain't nobody's seen the cover art (including, the last time I asked, Marco).

Gah, I am so jealous of you guys who live in or near NY, because I would love to get my hands on this sampler. Is it usually just a couple pages from each book, or whole chapters?
