My water is shut off

RoJoHen

Awesome
Admiral
I have no idea why, but my water is shut off. My roommate had no problem using the water this afternoon, which means that sometime between him leaving at 2pm and me getting home at 5pm the water department decided to come over and shut it off. And of course, it's after hours, so nobody at the water department is answering the phone.

^There's no emergency number? Are you in an apartment? Did the management not pay the bills?

I called the emergency number. It went straight to voicemail.

I am renting a house. I already spoke to my landlord, and he doesn't know what's going on. Neither of us received a water bill or a notice that water would be shut off for any reason.

Just don't do a poo.
Too late.

Okay, tried the emergency number again. He's going to "get a hold of his boys" to find out why they turned my water off.

Heh that reminds me of when our power was shut off. I was on the Internet and all of a sudden, i wasn't. Turns out the power company fucked up and sent our bill to my brother's address in Salt Lake City, Utah. Thankfully i was home so i was able to pay the bill and have the power turned back on.

According to the very blunt Water Department Guy, "You need to get on your landlord's ass because you're pretty much screwed until he pays the bill."

My landlord is a good guy, and neither of us received a bill, so I don't blame him. He's gonna take care of it first thing in the morning. It's just annoying.

At least I have a gym membership so I have a place to bathe.

Man, RoJo...you have had all MANNER of trials and tribulations this week. When will it ever end?

Seriously - I think Holdfast made a deal with god. ;)

You post here a lot now

I work for a water/utility agency. This is what those field guys do when someone "forgets" to pay their water bill. Your landlord should've received several notices before your water was shut off. We do have a 24-hour emergency line for the public to reach even after hours.
