Picard and Crusher:

Jean Luc Picard sat across from Beverly Crusher while they ate breakfast together in his quarters. They had started eating together on a whim and they just kept it up. But lately things between them had been strained ever since Kess-Prytt situation. He looked up at her and saw she was studying croissant intently. Jean Luc smiled while reaching for his coffee. True to their word all they ate in the mornings were Coffee and Croissants. It was simple and they needed simple right now. She looked out the view port and nearly jumped when Jean Luc came up behind her. He leaned close to her ear resting his hands on the arm of her chair. Against her orders Beverly's body reacted to his nearness. There was nothing like the feeling of Jean Luc's body surrounding her. He only had to be near her for her heart to jump to warp speed. Jean Luc had this effect on her all the time and she had stopped fighting it. Beverly let the feeling wash over her life a flood. She tilted her head to the side as if offering her neck to him for him to feast on.

Jean Luc noticed the slight movement as Beverly bared her neck to him. Her hair had fallen to the side and the lights cast a glow on her creamy white skin. He wanted to rain kisses along the side of her neck. Images of him doing just that. Jean Luc could feel his lips touching her supple skin and feel her pulse increase.

"Do it, I want you to." Beverly whispered and reached her hand up to drape over his shoulder giving him the encouragement he sought, it was also permission.

"Beverly." Her name fell from his lips in a reverent prayer. She had been all he thought about last night and into the morning.

Lightly he touched his lips to her neck and like he had imagined her pulse sped up. She tasted like the air to him, she was what he needed to survive. He heard her breath come in a ragged gasp as he trailed his lips down to the collar of her uniform. Her fingers fisted in his uniform as Jean Luc increased the pressure of his kiss. If he wasn't careful he would lose control and bite her.

"Oh, Jean Luc." Beverly gasped. She removed her arm from his shoulder. He took his lips from her neck and kneeled infront of her. Looking deeply into her green eyes he could see she wanted him to kiss her. Jean Luc put his hands on her hips and pulled her towards him. Her lips touched his and an electric current past between them at just the slight touch. In that moment he felt as if they were connected again without the aide of the neural device.

'I love you.' Jean Luc thought and wished she could hear him.

Beverly drew her hands up and placed them on either side of his face. She felt like she was being consumed by him, by his soul. It was like this every time he was near her. Jean Luc made her feel like she could burn brughter than the brightest star. Secretly Beverly loved this feeling, every look he gave her, every soft word he utterd in her ear when no one was looking. Bevery yearned for his attention. She needed it, needed any kind of contact she could get from him. Leaning forward more Beverly put more force into her kiss. Jean Luc's hands slid form her waist up to her back and Beverly wrapped her arms around his neck. He leaned into her but Beverly was so far forward that she toppled out of the chair and into Jean Luc's arms. They seperated momentarily to chuckle.

"Shouldn't you be on the bridge?" Beverly breathed.

"They'll call if they need me." Jean Luc replied and dug his fingers in lightly into her shoulder blades urging her lips back to his. She went willingly and enjoyed the little world they had created. Soon it would shatter but Beverly wanted to enjoy it for as long as she could.

That was nice... shorter than I thought you would make it, but nice.

And Picard can let Riker handle anything that comes up... that man needs to sit his bum in a Captain's chair sometime, lol.

I know there are probably a lot more Trek shippers here than BSG, so hopefully, more people will comment here.

Kira/Odo

Odo had just had the most horrifying experience. Quark had hugged him. He could still feel the Ferengi's arms around him and when the feel of his large ear pressed against his shoulder. When Odo had left he headed straight to the turbo lift and up to OPS, to where Kira was. She was left in command while Sisko and the Defiant were attending to convoy duty. He knew she was in the Captains office and so that was where he was headed. Odo just needed to see her.

When he stepped off the lift some of the officers in OPS stopped to look at him for a few moments and then headed back to work. Odo ate up the distance to the Captains office in long purposeful strides. The doors swished open silently and Odo crept over to Kira. She was standing by the view port lost in thought. She didn't seem to see his reflection as he approached and wrapped his arms around her waist. Kira stiffened and then relaxed when she recognized Odo's arms. how could she not know them? They were strong and warm and comforting.

"Hey you, what's the matter?" Kira whispered.

"I just needed to hold you." Odo whispered closer to her ear.

Kira loved the sound of his voice when he whispered. It was low and sensual. It caressed her senses and lulled her into a comfort that no one could give her. Not even Bariel made her feel this way. Kira leaned her head back against his shoulder while she ran her short nails along his forearms. Odo had encouraged her to grow them because he liked the feeling of them running along his bare humanoid back. she turned her head and kissed the underside of his jaw.

"Are you ok? You've never acted like this before." Kira asked.

Odo tightened his hold a little more, "I just needed to hold you, that's all." He whispered again. Kira untangled herself from his hold and turned to look at him. Ther was something there in his blue depths, but Kira couldn't tell what it meant.

"Try again." Kira said and went to sit on the couch.

"Kira." Odo stressed her name.

"What happened?"

"Quark."

"What is he still a woman?"

"No, he's a man again, but..." Odo trailed off and sat down next to Kira. It seemed so ridiculous now as he thought about it.

"A few minutes ago I was down on the Promenade and Quark all of a sudden hugged me." Odo replied.

"Oh Odo.... that seems.... terrible." Kira tried not to laugh but it was funny. He looked at her and saw the humor in her deep brown depths.

"That's why I came here. I needed to feel you." Odo replied. It was always Kira taking comfort from Odo, this was the first time he had taken comfort from her. Kira draped her arm over Odo's shoulder and pulled him towards her until his head rested on her shoulder. She kissed his forehead and Odo wrapped his arm around her waist. Odo lifted his head and lengthened his form so his lips could dance over hers. For a moment the thought that they should not be kissing on the captains couch entered Kira's mind, but Odo applied more pressure and all thoughts flew out of her mind.

"Security to Constable Odo."

Kira and Odo jumped apart and Kira looked at his comm badge as she turned slightly red. He cupped her cheek just before he tapped hs comm badge.

"Odo here."

"Sir we have a problem on the Promenade. We need your help." One of his deputies said over the comm.

"I'm on my way." Odo replied and tapped the comm ending the transmission. He looked at Kira and smiled.

"I'll see you tonight." she made it a statement. Odo stood up and leaned over to kiss Kira again before leaving the office to deal with whatever problem had arisen. Odo walked out without a word and Kira walked on shaky legs to stand at the view port again. Not a bad end to the day. her shift would end in about fifteen minutes and then she would spend the rest of the night with Odo.

Nice work... I like the way you wrote the description of Odo walking up the steps to Sisko's office. Keep posting Trek stuff... I know it's frustrating going without feedback or replies, but give it time... eventually, someone will see something that fits into what they like, and will comment.

Kira/Odo

Odo reclined in Kira's bed as he read one of his numerous crime novels; Mike Hammer being his preferred detective. Kira was curled into his side sound asleep after a long grueling day in OPS. She had the covers pulled close and one arm draped over his waist. Odo had his arm resting on her back while his hand moved in small circles. He could feel the way her chest expanded with every shallow breath she took and every time she exhaled her breath would dance along his bare chest. Kira shifted a fraction closer to her and Odo tightened his arm closer. The day before Odo had made sure to finish work early and file his reports so he could take the evening off and spend it regenerating just so he could be here with Nerys. His intention had been to make it a romantic evening, but she had come back to her quarters and fell right to sleep. Odo didn't mind it so much because he just got to be with her while she slept. Lately their schedules had been different. Nerys would work over in OPS or Odo would be trying to catch the latest criminal who stepped foot on the station. They just never had the time.

"Hmmm," Nerys groaned and rolled away from him. She always shifted in her sleep. Odo sat up more and smiled when he noticed that her left arm dangled over the side of the bed. He settled on his side with head resting in right palm with his left hand holding the PADD so he could read his book. It was when he read the same sentence for the fourth time that he put it on the nightstand. He curled into Kira's side and feigned sleep. His chest expanded as he inhaled and fell as he exhaled. His body seemed to remember how to breathe from the short time he spent as a human. Odo was enjoying the silence when Kira gave an involuntary jerk. He sat up and looked down at Kira, her forehead was creased in concentration. Her mind had taken her into a dream. Odo settled back down and nuzzled the back of her neck.

The Next Morning:

Kira woke to the smell of raktijino and no Odo beside her. She rolled over and saw the blankets bunched beside her. The last thing Nerys remembered was curling into Odo's side while he read one of his crime novels. Sometimes Kirs would try to read along with him but Odo seemed to absorb the words. So Kira contented herself with lying with him and feeling his body next to hers. How could she have survived without him like this? he could do things with his body that her other lovers would hurt themselves trying to attempt. That thought made her smile. 'Oh the things Odo can do to me.' she thought as she climbed out of bed. She walked out to the living area to see him standing by the view port clad in only loose fitting tan sleep pants that were the color of his uniform. Kira took a moment to watchin him. The light from all the stars gleamed on his skin, casting him in a glow. She took the steaming cup of raktijino from the table and went to join him by the viewport where she kissed him lightly on the shoulder.

"Morning." Kira whispered and wrapped right arm around his waist taking a sip of the strong Klingon coffee.

"Good morning." He replied turning in her hold to wrap his left arma round her shoulder.

"What are you looking at?" Kira asked and took another sip of her coffee.

"Nothing really, just thinking." Odo signed and kissed the top of Kira's head. His people were dying and he was doing nothing for them. But what could he do? Secretly he didn't want to help them because they were waging a war against his home. Inspite of what the Female Founder told him, Bajor was his home and he belonged here... with Kira. She had a way of making him feel like no other could.

"About your people." Kira said because she knew that was what he was thinking about. He felt helpless because they were dying. She hated seeing him so defeated. Odo let go of her and dropped down to the ledge of the viewport. It was a defeated gesture, one that he had never allowed anyone to see. But he felt safe enough with Kira to let her see this side of himself.

"I can't do anything to help them.... my people are dying." Odo's voice shook. Kira set her cup down and went to him. she dropped down to her knees and placed her arms on top of his thighs.

"Odo there is nothing you can do right now."

"Don't you think I know that!" Odo raised his voice and made Kira jump but she stayed where she was because she cared about him.

"I'm sorry. I know you know that." Kira lowered her head. Odo sighed and pulled her to him. He held her close and ran his hands over her back. She clutched at him and held him as tightly as he held her. Kira pulled back and stood up. Odo followed her as she took his hand and led him back into the sleeping area. She let go of his hand and settled herself back on the bed. Offering her hand Kira pulled Odo onto the bed with her. He settled lower resting his head on her abdomen. Kira ran her fingers through his hair and thought about his people. They had been nothing but trouble for him and now that they were dying that made them even more of a threat. But Odo was in pain over that very knowledge and there was nothing Kira could do. That realization hurt her heart more than anything.

Picard/Crusher:

Jean Luc had taken some time to spend the afternoon in his favorite holonovel Dixon Hill. He headed to his quarters to change and made his way to the holodeck to enjoy a little time to himself. Little did he know that Beverly would show up.

Holodeck: Dixon Hills Office

Dix strolled through the front door of his office to see his temp typing on that broken down typewriter. The day started like any other. It was hot outside and their were angry shouts from people outside on the street corner. That was music to his ears. as long as people had problems there would be a need for P.I's. Dix lounged in his creaky wooden desk chair and propped his feet up on his desk while he shut his eyes and just let the sounds of the city wash over him. He was starting to relax when she walked through the door; a dame with hair as red as fire. She knocked on his desk nearly making him topple out of his chair. Siting up her looked her in the eyes that were a startling green. She wore a green skirt with matching shirt and jacket that brought out the color of her eyes even more. It was those eyes that he couldn't stop staring into to. They were deep deep pools of mystery that made him want to take time solving.

"Are you Dixon Hill P.I?" her voice drowned out the shouts and horns from the street.

"What can I do for you doll face?" he asked and rose form his chair. She took a step closer taking a seat in on is the chairs. If Dix wasn't careful where he was looking he would be looking right down the V neck of her open blouse. Dix stood straighter and cast a glance over to his file cabinet where he kept a bottle of scotch hidden. But it was too early in the day for such things if he didn't get a case soon then his debts would be called in.

The dame stood up and walked around his desk to lean her hip on the edge. crossing her arms over her chest she smiled at him. "I was looking for you."

Dix turned and offered her a wry smile, "Really, and why is that? Has my reputation proceeded me?"

"Hmm, Ruby mentioned you to me. She said how you helped her out of a jam a while back."

"If I am to help you I need a name first doll face." Dix turned and stood close to her, close enough to feel her breath on his cheek. Heat radiated of her and it wasn't coming from the open window. She had a smile as sly as a fox and eyes as bright as a spring meadow.

"Call me anything you want." She whispered and leaned close to him. Her hair fell over her shoulder and brushed the sleeve of his suit jacket. He could smell the fragrance of lilacs and roses. the smell was over riding his senses. he bet her skin was as soft and silky as it looked. The temptation to reach out and touch her was strong Dix had to shove his hands in his pockets.

"That doesn't exactly help." Hill backed away and encountered the wall. Trapped with a gorgeous dame who he knew nothing about. It was shaping up to be one of those days. She stood up and glided over to him placing her hands on either side of him pinning him to the wall with her lean, lithe body. Her scent was all around him, filling his head, making him think wicked thoughts. Thoughts that he would love to play out. She leaned even closer and angled her head as if she was going to kiss him but suddenly turned away to sit on the edge of his desk. Dixon walked away from the wall and to stand close to her again. This time he would take command of the situation. He placed both of his hands on either side of her and slowly leaned forward until she was lying on his desk.

"Is this how you conduct business with all your female clients?" She whispered and ran her hand down the front of his shirt.

"If you want I can stop?"

"Did I say stop."

Dix smiled wryly and placed his lips to hers. She were soft and molded to his without much pressure. He moved his hand down her side and over her hip then back up to her waist. Dix felt her uncross her legs and hook her leg around his.

"Mr. Hill you have..."

They both looked up as he temp came through the door and she dropped the file she had been holding. Dix back away and the woman sat up. She straightened her skirt and shirt while getting of the desk. With one look back at Dixon Hill she walked out the door leaving the P.I to get on with his day.

Later That Night: Captains Quarters

Picard sat across from Beverly with a wicked gleam in his eyes. He couldn't believe she had come into his holonovel. This was Beverly at her best. she loved to play games and they had been dancing around each other for years. Beverly was still firmly embedded in his heart and that was wear she was going to stay. Jean Luc offered his hand for her to take and delighted in the feeling of her soft hand in his. He had fantasized many times about what she would feel like lying next to him in his bed.

"Why did you do that?" he asked.

"I wanted a taste of Dixon Hill P.I." Beverly whispered. He smiled and moved closer to her. Before Jean Luc could say anything more Beverly leaned into him and kissed him. She worked her lips over his in a fluid motion. This was what he had been wanting for so very long. Beverly freed her hand and wrapped them around his shoulders pulling them down to lie flat on the couch. His weight over her felt wonderful. jean Luc settled some of his weight on his forearms and settled the rest over her.

They detached their lips and smiled at one another. Jean Luc moved off of her and stood offering her his hand. He led her towards the sleeping area where they would seal their fate. Jean Luc found that his hands were shaking as he removed the uniform jacket from Beverly. She did the same and he noticed that her hands shook as bad as his. it brought a smile to his face for an instant before he covered his mouth with his again. Beverly was the air he breathed. Lowering them back onto the mattress they moved forward into a new level that they both could live with.

The next Morning:

Beverly woke with the feeling of a warm body next to hers. She had a moment to wonder where she was but memories of last night came crashing back to her like a wave. A smile brightened her face as she felt an arm tighten around her sheet clad waist. It was Jean Luc behind her and it was his breath that tickled her neck. His strong arm pulled her back so her cool flesh could touch his chest.

"Morning." Jean Luc whispered and kissed her shoulder. Beverly's grin grew wider. She turned in his embrace and hugged him.

"Good morning." Beverly replied in a whisper as well. They didn't want to break the spell they had cast last night. He leaned close and placed his lips to hers gently.

"Bridge to Captain Picard."

They chuckled and Picard answered, "Picard here,"

"Sir, we've encountered an alien ship wishing to speak with the Captain." Riker said over the comm.

"On my way Number one." Jean Luc replied. The comm cut off and Jean Luc hated the fact he had to untangle himself from Beverly. he sat up and scrubbed his hands over his face.

"You should get going," Beverly whispered and nipped at his shoulder making him turn and look at her. Picard looked at her and in a flash pinned her to the bed laughing with her. He kissed her hard and fast before climbing out of bed to get dressed.

Spock/Uhura: Possible way they could have met.

Uhura hurried across the quad. She had been logging some hours in the skills lab and she didn't realize that it was past curfew. All she hoped to do was get to her dorm unnoticed by the others. Tonight however was not going to be her lucky night. As soon as she turned the corner Uhura walked into a solid body, a warm solid body. She looked up into the dark eyes of a Vulcan. He was a good half a meter taller than her, but what kept her focus were his eyes. They seemed to reflect sadness.

"You are out of your dorm cadet." He said and Uhura had to shake her head.

"I lost track of time in the skills lab sir." She assumed he was an officer, but she couldn't see his uniform in the poorly lit area. The only thing she could see clearly were his eyes. Again she found herself locking gazes with him.

"You should have kept better time."

"Yeah I know. I was just working on this translation and I couldn't get it right away..." Uhura trailed off and turned around. She could hear the drunk rabble rousing of a few Cadets she knew. They had tried to get her to party with them a few times an she had always turned them down.

"Uhura! Hey there sweet thing. Why don't you come and party with us. We can show you a better time than that Vulcan half breed." A tall male cadet whose name was Jenner shouted to her. He had the vision of a hawk. Some people said that he had been genetically engineered, but that was just a rumor going around.

Uhura turned to the man she had run into and it suddenly clicked in her brain who he was. Spock. He was a cadet of some note around Starfleet, and he was even a teacher. She wanted to take his Xenolinguistics class. But what was he doing out here at this late hour? He was still a cadet himself. Without thinking Uhura looped her arm with his and shouted back, "Sorry boys I have other plans!" turning from the other she left with Spock trailing after her. When they turned another corner and were shielded by a grove of trees did Uhura let go.

"Sorry about that."

"It is quite alright cadet."

"You can call me Uhura. Besides I know your name's Spock. But aren't you still a cadet yourself?" She asked walking over to one of the benches that was placed under a flowering Cherry Tree.

"I am not. I graduated last year and was offered a teaching position. My class is..."

"Xenolinguistics, I know I want to take that class. That was the main reason I came to Starfleet." Uhura interrupted.

"It is an advanced class."

"I'm up to it," Uhura looked towards the dorms. Her room as still lit and she wanted to get in rather than risk getting caught again. "Well I had better get to my dorm. Wouldn't want to get into trouble." She smiled and headed towards her room.

Spock watched the young cadet leave. She was different from all the others that he had seen here. There was a sort of confidence coming off her that intrigued him. In the poorly lit area he had seen her clearly due in large part to his Vulcan eye sight. She was beautiful. What drew his attention the most were her lip, full and luscious. He bet they would spend hours devouring any lover she saw fit to choose. In the morning he would look up her school records and find out more about her.

Two Weeks Later:

Spock cloaked himself in shadows while he was watching Cadet Uhura listen to comm chatter. From where he stood he could see the creases in her forehead. She was concentrating on translating some message. Spock watched has she reached for the class to take a quick drink of water. She again hunched over the screen in concentration. He was transfixed by her dedication, it was marvelous. Uhura was chewing lightly on the tip of her nail. He took a step into the light and Uhura jumped slightly when she realized someone had been watching her.Turning she looked into the eyes of Spock. 'So he had been the one watching me?' Uhura thought and rose from her chair to face him. His eyes locked with hers and she felt her heart speed up. He had such soulful, sad eyes for a Vulcan.

"You are up late Cadet." Spock said and uhura looked at the transmission she had been working on. It had come over the sub space channel but it was more like a Andorian equivalent of 'Hello, how are you?' But the Andorian language was complicated when it wanted to be.

"Yes sir, I lost track of the time again." She looked down at her boots.

"Would you require some extra lessons?"

Uhura looked up and smiled slightly. "Yes, I would. I need help learning the Romulan dialects. I've tried learning all three of them by myself, but..." She trailed off. Unintentionally she had moved closer to him and leaned her head to the side.

"If you would like my assistance I will help you." He whispered. Uhura looked into his eyes again. She stepped back and grabbed her glass. Suddenly her mouth was dry. During the last few weeks she had been thinking about him since she had run into him.. What she remembered most was the solid feel of his chest under her hands. Lately she had been dreaming wicked dreams about the Commander.

"Thank you," Uhura replied.

"Then I will see you tomorrow evening Cadet." spoke spoke softly and turned to leave. The scent of her filled his head and made him dizzy.

Three Days Later:

Uhura sat in Spock's quarters looking over the latest lesson he had prepared for her. In the last three days she had been learning the Romulan language. She sat surrounded by the scent that was all Spock. He was all male and that called to Uhura, but she did her best to focus.

Spock stood at the window as far from where Uhura sat trying to steady his breathing. She still filled his head. Her scent of Lilacs floated through his room and around him. If he wasn't careful he would become addicted to her scent, so much to a point that he might not be able to let her go. Looking over at her Spock took careful controled steps closer to her to see what progress she had made on the the translations he had prepared for her.

Uhura heard him move closer but gave no outward appearence that she had caught on. He was adept at stealth and often used it. It wasn't the foot steps that she heard, it was the beating of his heart. The thundering sounded in the silence between them and charged the air with tension. She turned just in time to be face to face with him. 'His eyes seem so sad.' She thought and continued to watch him. Without thinking uhura reached out her hand and cupped his cheek. His skin was smooth and warm.

"Cadet?" Spokck whispered, unsure what to say.

"Shhh," She whispered and leaned into him. her lips touched his gently, just savoring the feel of him. His hands came up to her shoulders as if to push he raway, but they pulled her to him so that more of her body came into contact with him. The lesson all but forgoten, Spock picked Uhuhra up and carried her to his bed. This was to be his choice and tha path he would follow. somthing told him that this woman would be an important part of the journey he would take.

Nice work with the Dixon Hill story. I still don't know what to make of JJ's decision to give Uhura and Spock a relationship, so I can't really comment on that, 'cause I'm just not feelin' it yet, lol.

Kira/Odo

Kira stood on the upper level of the Promenade. The wormhole was due to open soon bringing Odo back to her after almost two years. He had been off trying to convince his people that solids weren't all bad. Case in point Kira's relationship with Odo. He was using that as a reference but still her people were reluctant to trust humanoids. They had asked him to leave and go back to his precious humans. So Odo was coming home; coming home to her. She couldn't wait to see him. Kira hadn't even looked at another man since Odo had left. He had told her that he didn't want her to wait for him, but that was what she had done anyway. Kira knew that somehow the Prophets had brought him back to her. Her pagh needed him, he was her Destiny. Kira looked up in time to see the wormhole open and even without seeing it she knew there was a small Dominion ship that had come through.

"Odo." Kira whispered and closed her eyes. On instinct she headed to the docking bay. with every step she took her speed increased. Soon she was running down the corridor but stopped when she saw him and she knew it was him. He was wearing his Bajoran Security uniform. Kira took a moment to study him. His back was the same lean lines and defined planes that she had last ran her hands over.

"Come for your old job back?!" Kira shouted joyfully down the hall. Odo turned to her and his face lit up. He stared towards her opening his arms in an invitation. She moved towards him and suddenly felt the world righten when his arms enfolded her close to his body. Kira sighed and wrapped her arms around him. His body molded to her and she felt his lips on the top of her head. This was what she had been missing; she had been missing Odo.

"If you'll have me?" Odo whispered resting his cheek against her hair. He noticed that her lovely red hair fell to her just past her shoulders. It reminded him of the time he had first met her when the Cardassians still occupied Bajor.

Kira pulled back and looked at him. His face was more defined, but his eyes and the wrinkles on his forehead were still the same. She could even see faint ridges on the bridge of his nose. Her fingers traveled up to lightly trace them and Odo closed his eyes in pleasure. He had missed the feeling of her roving fingers on his skin.

"Oh, Odo, I will always have you, anyway you let me." She whispered and smiled wryly. Kira had a devilish glint in her dark brown eyes. He took her hand and out of habit led her towards her quarters. Odo just needed to feel her against him.

Kira's Quarters:

Odo sat cradling Kira in his arms as her felt her fingers tracing patterns on his bare chest. She contacted OPS that she would be taking the rest of the day off to make sure the guest from the Gamma quadrant was taken care of. When they had come back here she had gone into the sleeping area and changed into crimson colored sleep pants and a matching camisole. Odo couldn't help but stare at her. The crimson washed out her skin and gave her and ethereal glow and made her hair glow. He could even see the scars she still carried from her time in the Resistance. Odo shifted form and allowed his security uniform to dissolve and had tan sleep pants appear keeping his chest bare. This was how he had appeared two years ago when he would curl up with Kira in bed. She would ask him to hold her until she fell asleep when her mind had taken her back to the Occupation.

Now he was curled up with her on the couch marveling in the feel of her skin against his. She felt the same, everything about her was the same. The way she moved, the way she smiled, Odo was seeing her like it was the first time. Everything about her was new, and yet the same as when he left. Odo kissed the top of her head and tightened her hold on her slightly.

When he had gone back to the Great Link there was a time of happiness but a short time ago the others had grown weary of him trying to convince them that Humans weren't bad. It was sad for him to leave them but it also meant that he could come back to Kira. As long as he was with her then she was his link and that was all he would ever need

Picard/Crusher:

Captain Jean Luc Picard sat on the bridge of the ENTERPRISE thinking about Beverly. They had had breakfast this morning and he had been thinking about Kess-Prytt. That night they had learned a lot about the other. She had found out that he was in love with her. Of course he had covered it up that he didn't feel that ways any more but now he wasn't so sure. Memories had been churned up and those once dormant feelings had come pouring out of the carefully built dam, flooding his system. The bond that had been formed by the neural link had comforted him, just the feeling of her thoughts caressing his mind. She would bring a smile to his face with all her acerbic comments she would think.

"Jean Luc?"

Picard sat up straighter and looked around discreetly. There was no way he could have heard her voice in his mind. The bond between them had been severed. It wasn't a bad thing that it had been severed, he could do without the nausea every time she had got more than ten feet between them.

"Beverly?" Jean Luc thought and her chuckle whispered through his mind. then he wondered what she was up to.

"Number 1 you have the bridge." The Captain said and headed to the turbo lift.

Sickbay:

Beverly Crusher had been trying to recreate the frequency for the neural link that had bonded her and Jean Luc together. She was surprised at how much she missed the bond. His calming presence was nothing she had ever felt before. Beverly had spent most of the morning messing with different psi-wave frequencies trying to get the right one.

"Jean Luc?" She thought.

"Beverly?" His thought whispered through her mind and she couldn't help but chuckle. She found the right frequency. Any minute he would be here to ask her what the hell she was doing and she would just laugh at him.

Right on queue the doors swished open and there stood her Captain in all his glory. She couldn't help but look him up and down. He was wearing the grey long sleeved shirt with the red jacket and his black pants tucked into his boots. Beverly felt her heart rate speed up. Jean Luc had definitely stolen her heart. He locked eyes with her and instantly knew what she was thinking because he was thinking the same thing.

"Can you hear my thoughts" Beverly asked.

"Yes, but why?" He replied.

"I missed hearing your thoughts." Beverly confessed and it was true. She had missed that intimate touch of his mind. Closing her eyes Beverly thought about something she had denied herself. Beverly thought about Jean Luc pulling her towards him and ravishing her mouth until they were both breathless.

Jean Luc inhaled sharply at the image that Beverly was projecting at him. She was lost in the moment as much as he was. Her projection had him feeling so many things that he allowed to flow through his body and into her mind. Beverly fell back into her chair and Jean Luc leaned forward placing his hands on her desk. Beverly tapped a few keys on her PADD and the flood stopped. They were able to breathe again.

"That was... different. It wasn't as powerful as the first time." Picard said breathless.

"I guess I had the frequency dialed up too much." Beverly reasoned just as breathless as her Captain. She tapped a few more keys and saved the program to be used at a later date.

"So that is what had you preoccupied at breakfast this morning." Jean Luc said. His breathing and heart rate had returned to normal.

"Yes, i had been missing the feeling of your mind intermingling with mine." Beverly whispered as she stood up to lean close to him.

"Why don't we have dinner tonight?"

"Really?"

"Yes, and bring that." Jean Luc pointed to the PADD. Beverly smiled and nodded. As always she would do what her Captain asked.

Captains Quarters:

Beverly sat on the couch close to Jean Luc as the listened to 20th century Earth music. She leaned her head on his shoulder. Earlier after their dinner she had turned on the neural frequency to link their minds. Beverly had discovered that they still had some of the link in their minds, it was just dormant.

As they sat on the couch she could feel the music wash over him and how it made him feel. He was running his fingers up and down her arm making her shiver all over. She knew that he felt it too. It was so good to have this link back. Beverly suddenly stood up and took his hand leading him towards the sleeping area.

Picard knew her intent, he had heard it in her thoughts. This was what he had wanted for so long, but she had to be the one to make that move. Her breathing grew deeper as she settled herself back on the bed. Jean Luc knew how hard this was for her, but under her fear was a determination that made him smile. He removed his shirt and leaned over her where he placed a light kiss on her abdomen. Her stomach jumped at the contact but that didn't stop her from pulling him to her. She could feel his joy and he could feel her nervousness. It was strange, but it felt so good.

Beverly settled him over her body. She could feel him as he felt her body against his. His lips descended on hers and began to stoke the fire that burned between them. He blazed a trail over her bare skin. Every button he released his kisses would follow. Jean Luc felt every kiss and every caress he gave to Beverly. This link made that possible, they belonged together, bonded by the mind and soon to be bonded in body.

The Next Morning:

Jean Luc woke first and watch Beverly sleep. She was on her back with one arm over her head and her other hand rested on her stomach. Some of her hair fell in her face shrouding her in fire red locks. Last night had been powerful it had sent them both through a loop. Beverly shifted slightly and the sheet slid up her thigh a little. Jean Luc leaned over her placing light butterfly kisses over her sheet clad waist. Beverly shifted again and her arm fell over his back. As much as he enjoyed the link Jean Luc reached over and tapped a few keys to end the program. Settling back down next to her, he allowed his mind to fall into sleep. It would be a few more hours before they would be called to duty. So he would enjoy this time that he had with Beverly. Right now they were just Jean Luc and Beverly, that was all he ever wanted.

PICARD/CRUSHER:

Jean-Luc watched Beverly as she slept. They had been in a shuttle exploring an uninhabited world. while they had been descending through the atmosphere when a violent storm kicked up knocking the shuttle around. Jean-Luc had managed to set down without too much injury to either of them. Beverly had slammed her shoulder into the console. she had guessed that it had become dislocated. Jean-Luc took off his uniform jacket and used it as a sling for her arm after it was popped back into place. He wouldn't forget the sound as long as he lived. The strain on her body had finally dragged her into sleep. When her head lulled back some of her hair fell into her face casting fire shadows on her pale skin.

Jean-Luc wiped at his forehead and the back of his hand came away withe a smear of crimson. He had hit his head harder than he thought. There was no blurred vision and no urge to fall asleep. So he had sustained no concussion. Instead he watched over Beverly as she slept. Her chest rose and fell evenly enough and Picard was content to watch her.

"I know you're watching me." Beverly whispered.

"I thought you were sleeping?" Picard whispered and kneeled in front of her checking the sling. With her right hand Beverly cupped Jean-Luc's face, smiling at him.

"How's your head?" Beverly's voice was still filled with sleep and fatigue.

"I'm fine, it's your arm I'm worried about." He looked up into her eyes and smiled in return. she was the most precious thing to him. Sometimes he valued her more than the Enterprise, but a Captain was married to his ship and he had no time for other things. if he knew a way to make Beverly fit more completely into his life then he would.

"What are you thinking about Jean-Luc?"

"Us,"

"Really?" Beverly inquired. She had been thinking about them a lot lately as well. There wasn't a minute that went by when Jean-Luc didn't cross her mind. Whether he was smiling, or just sitting with her in a companionable silence, she was happy to have him near.

"I was just thinking about everything we have been through." Jean-Luc sighed and slowly lowered his rapidly tiring body to the floor of the shuttle. Beverly levered herself out of the chair and curled into his side. She gently lifted her injured arm to rest over his stomach. This was more comfortable than sitting up in the chair. Jean-Luc's arm came around her, holding him to her.

"We have had an eventful life." Beverly whispered and snuggled closer. His body fit to hers better than any mans had. Fear had been the driving force that kept her from the very arms that held her now. She didn't want to run the risk of losing him, even if that meant she never got the chance to have him. But when they were alone she could let go of her fear and for an instant she could believe that they had a chance.

"This is true. I think it's these moments I enjoy the most, even if we're battered and bruised." Jean-Luc confessed. He and Beverly eased into each others life more smoothly than he ever would have thought when she had reported for duty seven years ago. Now he couldn't imagine a day without hearing her voice, or seeing her smile. When they had breakfast he tried to drag out the meal just so she wouldn't leave. Beverly turned her head into his chest chuckling.

"How long do you think it will take them to find us?" Beverly asked. When she didn't get a reply Beverly sat up uneasily and peered down at Jean-Luc. He was sleeping. She took his vitals the old fashioned way and was reasonably confidant that he would be ok provided that he didn't sleep too long. All they needed to do was wait until a search party found them. Until that happened Beverly was content to lay in her captains arms and listen tot he storm outside. The soft rain beating on the hull lulled her into sleep.
