That's 104 movies, not 105. ;) Also, Freaks was made in 1932, not 1933--though filmed in late 1931 (I kind of became an insta-expert on that one).

At least we're safe from getting any mainstream remakes of that film (I'm aware of the not-so-mainstream, exploitative kinda-remakes of it). They'd never get away with it. And if they did, it wouldn't be the tender, empathetic film that the original is.

My top 8:

1) Freaks (1932)
2) House Of Wax (1953)
3) Night Of The Living Dead (1968)
4) Bride Of Frankenstein (1935)
5) Frankenstein (1932)
6) Nosferatu (1922)
7) The Phantom Of The Opera (1925)
8) Carrie (1976)

Sleepy Hollow (1999) and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street (2007) are favorites of mine, but I almost don't want to put them on the list due to the fact that I see them more as quirky "Burton" films (though the only two that could conceivably be considered horror films) rather than as "horror". Neon Burton gore is usually more comedic than horrific (on purpose). He's known for taking quite liberally from the story of Frankenstein, of course. And then there's his connections to German Expressionism, Vincent Price and Edgar Allan Poe. Not to mention having done a biopic on Ed Wood.

Granted, by that same logic, I almost don't even want to put Freaks on the list, because it's equally part soap opera and drama as it is "horror". Though a lot of the old horror films were dramas with some horrific elements.

I'm a big fan of horror cinema. But I doubt I could name 105 of them (or even 50).

My favorite is definitely Alien, though I'm also an immense fan of George A. Romero's zombie series, especially Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Diary of the Dead.

Emmanuelzorg, I take it you havent seen alot of japanese horror films? (not that remade american CRAP)
