My son is a jedi?!

sbk1234

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
True story. I was driving with my son down the street when I looked in the rearview mirror, and saw a CHP car with lights on behind me. I stopped right away and pulled over to the side. The cop approached us on the right side, and I lowered the window. The cop tells me that I didn't have my new registration stickers on the license plate.
That's when my 12-year-old son waves his hand and says in a jedi-like voice, "This isn't the car you're looking for."

The cop asked if he was doing some kind of jedi mind trick.
To make a long story short, he let me go with a warning.

The Force was with us!

It's a good thing the policeman was kind and let you off with a warning, rather than unleash the dark side of The Force.

Actually i have a creepier story.
When I was about three, maybe four, my maternal grandfather fell i'll. Long story short, he was dying. So my mother, my father and i traveled back to hungary to see him before he passed away. He hung on longer than anyone would have thought and so, we stayed there. Then one day, my mother thought i was acting a little funny. I was literally talking to the wall. She tried to get my attention but couldn't. After a while i just sat down and started playing again. We were about visit my grandfather again, so mother simply asked if i knew where he was. Thinking i would say the hospital. I looked up at her, strangely, and pointed at the ceiling. When she asked what i meant and how i knew, i told her that that the angels had told me that he was in heaven. Obviously she was shaken by the statement and told my father to call the hospital. My grandfather had passed away six minutes earlier.

I also have this uncanny ability to sense danger. this apparently runs in the family. my above mentioned grandfather was a soldier back in -56. on his way home from border patrol, his fellow soldiers asked him if he wanted to join them on the truck they were traveling on. he got on, then jumped off a moment later saying that it felt wrong, he'd rather walk. they took off without him. after walking an hour or two, he saw the very same truck shot to pieces by a russian tank. maybe 20 or so soldiers perished. as far as i know, the russians still claim they didnt do it. then again, who wants to admit friendly fire?

If your wife tries to convince you he was "conceived by the midichlorians," don't buy it. Mine tried to sell me that story, and my kid grew up to be a seven-foot-tall black man with a voice like James Earl Jones.

It sounds like you've raised your kid right, though, and instilled in him all the fundamentals.

I have a similar story. In High-School, one of the co-op placements I had was in a nursing home. A bunch of us would go down there every couple of days, and a few of us were assigned to the Alzheimer's ward and our job was to take them to the gym and have them do their excersizes. One lady had become quite taken to me and apparently I had made quite an impact on her because she would always recognize me. She was a sweet lady. Well, fast forward years later and I have a dream about her which was odd, but comforting, in which she tells me goodbye. Next day, I check the paper, and sure enough there's a notice of this person passing away.

It might be worth getting your boy's midicholrians tested just to make sure. However, if your sons midichlorian levels are unusally high, don't whatever you do start reffering to him as 'the chosen one'. It tends to turn children into bipolar douchebag adults with a penchant for galactic domination and killing tuskan raiders.

Yes, this little one is worth worrying about...

So, what about the minus sign? ;)

(more seriously, I've never seen the hyphen used this way.)

It is how we refer to the manufacturing year at work.
-05 (2005) Volvo S60-R, -99 (1999) WV Golf 1.6. and its quite common where i'm from.

On the subject of thanatological premonitions, Alec Guinness had a similar experience with James Dean:

ETA: Not that I can prove it, and it was certainly a coincidence, I recounted the tale to someone along with the comment "I hope this story doesn't finish off Alec Guinness." He died the very next day. Don Van Vliet popped into my thoughts for no reason just the other week, and I heard he died the next day. He did have MS 'though.

it appears the force is weak with me. i tried this once, the guy still arrested me. suppose he just liked my charming personality :guffaw: (damn it! why can't a hot chick arrest me once?)

(and yes, i do have splendid reflexes, i can do wonders with a rifle, but i'm pretty bad with a sword. suppose i'm 50% there. :))
