My Pre TOS ship Deckplans

Admiral Danev

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
So I've restarted a project that i begun about 2-3 years ago, Deck plan Blueprints of my own alternative version of the NX01. I wanted a bulkier more retro looking ship that fit into the previous design aesthetics of the era according to TOS and TNG.

I have also started Deck plans for the Daedalus class ship, and when I get sick of working on my NX Alternative, I work on the Daedalus.

I also have a thread on this project on Scifi-meshes.com

The Endeavour Class (class name subject to change)

Thanks guys! Comments are appreciated. I wasn't even trying to make this similar to the Kelvin bridge, but now after I've googled plans of it, I can see the similarities also. I was actually going for a more "retro" looking NX bridge but more open.

What do people think of my general layout? its slightly bigger than a Constitution Bridge, but I also intended for more people to be on the bridge. Are the stations laid out appropriately?

Im also nmot sure what to put in the spare room next to the turbolift. I WAS thinking a toilet/bathroom, but its directly off the bridge, and the ceiling is not very high in that area (not that that really matters for a sitting poisition). Is it too close to the bridge?

As Jadzia Dax pointed out in "Trials and Tribbleations" "They really packed 'em in on these old ships, huh?" So the more people thing makes sense! :):techman:

I think it's a great start. One thing you might want to consider is comparing your bridge to both the ENT and TOS bridges, and look at the ergonomics of the controls and displays. Two things that jumped out at me:

1. At the engineering station, is that officer going to be able to reach all the controls on the left- and right-hand segments of the station, or will there also be officers standing?

2. At the shared Science I & II station, the display monitors on the middle segment are angled away from the seated officers.

Like I said, I think you're on the right path here — I think the open layout works better.

While I liked it, it's exactly the extra Bridge stations surrounding it and the bigger size that feels out of place. I don't know of any TOS ship Bridges with that many stations or size (unless I am forgetting something). It wasn't until the films they started getting bigger and adding more stations.

Thanks everyone. The sitting stations were only meant to access their immediate consoles, the middle sections are for standing/additional control. The engineering chair should slide if needed I reckon... Thanks for the constructive comments. I'll take them into consideration.

So I was thinking of making the following changes??? This is 100 years or so before TOS, and TOS is the era in which they had simplistic and minimal interiors.

I think your proposed changes look good.

I don't think his bridge is considerably bigger than the TOS bridge, or that it has more stations (apart from the two in the command well). Rather, it's the way the perimeter stations are broken up and shared between officers that makes it look busier.

I like symmetry, so if it was my project, I'd find a way to put the turbo-lift on the center-line axis, or put a second lift in. I've always hated the offset turbo-lift, and even more so the canted-left bridge alignment.

I do love you attention to detail for the little bit that you've shown us. It makes me want to see more, and makes me wonder if you're going to keep that level of detail for the rest of the ship. I drafted a full set of deck plans, for a much smaller ship (eight-decks total at 108-meters long by 27.5 meters wide, crew of 100), so I know you have a LOT of work ahead of you, my friend. I look forward to seeing your progress.

Hi all, thanks for your comments. Yes I do plan on putting this much detail into all of my deckplans, but I thought the one place you really want to see up close, is the Bridge. Sgt_G I also like symetry, I almost DID put the Turbolift in the centre, but if I kept the bridge facing directly forward, it had the Captain with his back ot anyone who entered.

I mentioned at the sart of this thread that I was doing Daedalus blueprints when I get sick of this job, I have the same Bridge layout on that one, But I have changed it slightly so that there is actually a doorway to a briefing roof and ready room opposide the lift. (I should really post that too sometime.)

Okay so its been a few days since Ive been able to get to this. I edited the stations around the edge, and decided on removing the Engineering seated station and having them as standing stations as majority of Engineering is done in the Engine Room and its only supervision viewing from the bridge.

I also added a few more doo-hickies to the wiring spaces....

Let me know what you think please.
