I've decided to do a thread for my ship designs the first was the Perry gunboat mentioned on another thread.
the second ship is a adversary for the fleet the romulan warhawk can be found here

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/shaggy457/federation%20ships/ROMULANWARHAWK.png

The idea for the ship was from something I saw on the net can't remember where though.
The Warhawk has six disrupter's and two torpedo tubes forward and a third aft. the warhawk is roughly the size of the Klingon D-7 battle cruiser with about the same crew.

The third ship is a federation cruiser of the chariot class

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/shaggy457/federation ships/chariotclassstarship.jpg

This ship is the same overall size to the galaxy class but has a bit more firepower again it was a picture I saw on the net a while back that gave me the idea

I'll try to do a back story to these ships when I get time.

I like the Romulan hybrid. It's the type of ship you'd think would turn up in the comics at some point during following "The Enterprise Incident," until the Romulans outgrew the traded Klingon tech. And it flows with later "necked" Romulan designs like the Warbird.

Occasionally (in fandom or Trek lit) you hear about ships being captured by foreign governments and converted...a Federation ship with Klingon markings or whatnot, but you never really get to see it. On TV there's the studio worrying about viewer confusion or budget constraints, but on the net or in art, I wish we could see more of this sort of thing. Just for fun. I remember in an old Star Wars novel, set some years after the movies, mobsters or pirates or something were using the hull of an old Imperial Star Destroyer!

Now the feasibility of such a thing in the Trek Universe and tech falling into enemy hands aside, stuff like that is just cool. And you get more variety and civilian and other ships in SW it seems too.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I've got a couple more for you the first is the u.s.s Alice

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/shaggy457/federation ships/ussalice.png

the Alice is a patrol frigate built when the enterprise 'a' was decommissioned the Alice and her sisters were built mainly to patrol along the romulan border. She is about the same size as the Miranda class though has an extra deck and is heavier. The weapons are 4 photon torpedo launchers forward and six phaser banks in the saucer.

The second is my first Klingon design my version of a D-14

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/shaggy457/federation ships/klingond-14PRENEXTGENCRUISER.jpg

The D-14 is a cruiser built around the late excelsior time line. She is the same size as a D-7 with much the same weapons layout though with up to date weapons and engines. the crew are about the same as the older D-7's.
Very few of these ships are seen as most were sent to fight a race on the klingons border to fight an un known race.

Found a starship I had designed a while back she's my first ground up design with no parts from other ships.
She is the u.s.s victorious a cruiser built around the time the ambassadors were built

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/shaggy457/federation ships/victorious.png

The victorious has a crew of 550 and is about the size of the ambassador cruisers. very few were built before before star fleet decided to concentrate on the ambassador class cruisers which were cheaper to build and maintain.

got a pre dominion war cruiser in the fleet now she's the u.s.s Stella shield. She has four quantum torpedo launchers two forward, and two aft. she has a crew of about 600 and was built about 2374. She is a little shorter then the enterprise 'e' by 70 meters.
the Stella shield class star ships are the cheaper version of the sovereign class starship. They have more laboratory space though they can still handle themselves if the need arises

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/shaggy457/federation ships/stellashield.png

also got their stable mates the furious class. this design was inspired by the united states class cruiser I found on the net awhile back

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/shaggy457/federation ships/fouriousmk4.png

the furious class battle cruiser is the bed mate of the stellashields though the furious has a much heavier weapons payload almost that of the sovereign class. designed mainly for assault they have heavier shields then most ships and a heavy concentration of ablative armor on the forward section of the ship. the bow contains a sensor jamming system to help confuse the enemy. she holds 200 marines and has six torpedo launchers four for wards 2 aft.

lastly for now I have a place for them to go this is my take on star base 480
it is twice the diameter of deep space nine

got a couple of 'captured' vassals done these are one cruiser and one destroyer.
The first is a klingonised Larson

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/shaggy457/federation%20ships/larsonklingonised.png

thought destroyed during a border raid by the Klingon's the u.s.s fletcher was actually captured by the Klingon's they thought they could use the ship as a spy ship but when it was brought to the ship yard they found it was almost worthless the warp nacelle was burnt out worse then they first thought and the bridge island was a blasted wreck after they tripped a destruct system. They decided the ship was still usable so they refitted it with Klingon systems then sent it into the triangle to stir up anti federation feelings there

the second ship is a federation version of a d-7

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/shaggy457/federation ships/d-7federation.png

though this ship isn't really a captured vessel as such.
After the battle with the Borg at worf 359 star fleet realized they were short of patrol ships, they had a few coming on line but in the meantime the border with the gorn was lightly deafened, star fleet purchased six d-7 cruisers from the Klingon's but were unhappy with the systems so they decided to refit them with federation systems they had a few Miranda class ships in mothballs their frames were tired but their systems were still workable they refitted three d-7's before they abandoned the idea as the ships proved to be not very efficient

sorry I checked the links and I think I forgot to credit vance for the saucer on the larson and the nacelles on the d-7

Well they look ok could have been better but were stuck with only the tool kits :( plus for the Klingon version of the Larson you could have used almost any D7 schematic thats not Vances for the Warp nacelle :)

must admit I'm not too happy with my version of the nacelle on the larson so may have to use a ready made one from somewhere

Your shipyard's too over-the-top. You should've kept the Regula-Class/Anteres-Class & Regula-Class/Utopia-Class matches but scrapped the rest. I love the U.S.S. Alice as it finally gives the Miranda-Class variants some real speed & armaments & a friggin' proper navigation deflector!! I love the U.S.S. Victorious & Chariot-Class. Finally, the Entente-Class merged with a Nebula-Class, & done properly!
