"My Name Is Bruce" trailer (starring Bruce Campbell as himself)

Aragorn

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
My Name Is Bruce

Fun premise along the lines of The Three Amigos or Galaxy Quest or Legend (the Richard Dean Anderson TV series), and the Bruce Campbell "genre" of films has great potential to be tapped.

However, on the other hand, this also looks like the kind of cheap schlock that Campbell tends to be in, where the intent isn't enough to compensate for the lack of talent.

Ohhh I heard about this recently, didn't get any info on a release date though, thanks for the link.

Well then again I love Army of Darkness lol.

Sounds like fun. You gotta love Bruce - I watch Burn Notice pretty much just to see him.

For all the shlocky stuff he's done, the guy has been able to work steadily in movies and TV for decades now, which is no small achievement in Hollywood.

Besides, if you don't like his schlocky stuff, odds are that you're not a good person. :D

Bruce Campbell movies may not be deep, but they're almost always pure fun. I'm looking forward to this.

Love Bruce Campbell.

Evil Dead Series
Bubba Ho-Tep
Brisco County Jr.
Jack of All Trades

I look forward to this, although it may be terrible. Bruce himself has admitted a number of his films are awful (such as alien apocalyse)

I have hopes for this one though, It has a fun premise.

I saw the first ten minutes of this at a horror convention last spring. Funny, even though there were some cheesy moments. Mark Verheiden of Battlestar Galactica wrote it, too, IIRC. Should be fun. Reminds me of Free Enterprise. With zombies.

THE BRUCE is doing a screening and Q&A tour across the US as we speak. I've already got my tickets for the Baltimore showing. :techman:

Also similar to The Brothers Grimm. This type of movie used to be described as "like 3 Amigos," but it's quickly becoming it's own genre. Is it time for us to give the genre a name? It feels like we need one now.

Also, just going by the trailer, are we to asume that show-within-the-film is a Stargate rip-off?

You get a couple of cool points. ;)

Also, thanks for the link. It looks like I get a couple of chances to go in San Francisco, or maybe that one in Berkeley.

Who could forget Screaming Brain?

Okay, maybe that one is best forgotten.

But Army of Darkness is awesome. I'll probably pick this one up on DVD as I don't make it to the movies often.
