My Kitchen Aid Mixer is "in the shop" as a gear has broken in it. I got it about a year ago "second hand" from my parents when they bought a new one. God, I love that thing. I've got a grinder attachment for it (to occasionaly grind my own hamburger), an ice-cream maker, God that thing is awesome.

I just abused it a bit too much.

Sigh.

Anyone else here have a Kitchen Aid Mixer and just love it?

I thought maybe you were hosting a social gathering.

The George Foreman Grill is about as high-tech as my kitchen gets.

HMMMMM...... :vulcan: :shifty:

For the record, by "abused it" I mean by kneading dough in it. I had a little too much dough in the work bowl, the hook got bound up and some gear or other component of whatever passes for the transmission in the motor of the thing broke. $80 to repair.

Wow. $80 seems expensive. How much does one of those go for new?

New the model I have goes for about $200.

But they're very, very nice, very high quality mixers.

I just pushed mine past its limit, I honestly had too much in it.

OOh... you destroyed the pretty little thing! You dont deserve it. Gimmie!!!

I have a loveaffair with my silvery krups appliance. I love it so much that I would not trade it for a kitchen aid.

But I want a kitchen aid too.. but one that grinds and pulses veggies and stuff.

I love Kitchen Aid equipment, just can't justify the cost to the wife. So I'm stuck slumming with GE and Sunbeam.

That said, I wouldn't take a cent for my Sunbeam mixer.

I have a KitchenAid mixer that's essentially identical to the one you posted, Trekker, although it's rarely used right now due to the combination of my limited counter space (I have two-foot-by-two-foot spaces to the left and right of my kitchen sink, and another 2x2' space to the left of my gas range) and that I don't have too many uses for it at the moment (I haven't bought any attachments for it, so it only usually gets brought out when my wife is baking bread).

I thought Trekker was considering starting a career as a DJ.

I'm going to be a shock-jock. ;)

Pointing out: My Kitchen Aid Mixer is black and I've stuck the "NCC-1701" nacelle pennant on the sides of it from the polar-lights model kit sticker-decal sheet. (I'd love to have larger version of them.) I really wanted the one where the head pivots (rather than the one where the bowl lifts up to the whisk/attachment.)

And, as I sad, I've got the grinder and ice-cream maker acessories for it.
