Who is this kid, where did he come from, and how did he get started? I'm really tired of seeing a little kid get all the spotlight when some of us had to do it the hard way... go to school, get jobs we hate, and then we have to come home and watch these little kids make it big. It really saddens me to see America do this... I live in America, and I don't understand what has happened to the Entertainment/Music Industry.

They are only going to have problems when they get older... look at Michael Jackson, Gary Coleman, Olsen Twins, just to name a few. I realize that with TV and Movies we need kids to fill in stories... but they should never be put in the spotlight like Justin Bieber is. Unless it's a family group, I say no body should get that famous at least until they are around 18.

What gets me is all the magazine covers, album covers, posters or whatever else with him standing there looking all bad-ass like he's a fuckin' gansta' rapper or something and, really, he sings fluffy pop-trash bullshit.

Kid's a girly-voiced punk and when his balls drop his career is over. And God I hate when pop-stars these days (like Bieber and Brittney (during her tenure) wear that head-set thing with the microphone so they look like part singer part Time-Life Operator. Has audio-recording/detecting technology regreessed so far to the point where a giant microphone is needed 2 inches from your head to record sound?

What I wonder about male pop stars like this is, how does it feel to be idolized and loved by swarms of pre-pubescent/barely pubescent girls? The kid is 16! He's 2 years away from being an adult! What 18 year-old guy wants to have millions of 15 year old girls rubbing one out to his poster?

And why are girly, big-lipped, punks like this getting so much fuzz lusting after then? Aren't girls supposed to like, you, know men! People who don't have the voice of a teenage girl (I swear whenever I hear a Bieber song it sounds like a girl singing) and also has the lips/face of a girl?

WTF? Society?! Was he made in the same factory that made Miley Cyrus and those two kids in the "Suite/Cruise Life" show? That's what he looks like. Product.

He doesn't look human and he's about as "bad ass" as bunny rabbit eating grass.

The vast bulk of this kid's fanbase is pre-teen girls - you know, the kind who come home from junior high in the afternoon and play the same video on YouTube over and over and over about 50 times between 3:30 and bedtime. And that pre-teen obsession thing is nothing new under the sun - just ask Donny Osmond, David Cassidy, or the Backstreet Boys.

All of whom, by the way, had much better haircuts. But I digress....

So why do girls, who are supposed to be sexually attracted to men who look like they can defend and provide, attracted to a flaky boy-boy like Justin Bieber? What is it that makes a girl go from crushing on the Bieber/pop flake stars (the boys of Hanson also come to mind) to crushing on, you know, men! Men with abs, and pecs and hard jawlines and deep voices?

Why are girls so messed up is what I'm asking.

Humm.....I don't know the answer to that, but I guess you're right about us being different - my brother never went crazy over some pre-pubescent little girl - he went straight to stealing the back issue Playboy Magazines from the cabinet under my father's bathroom sink.

But girls wouldn't do that. Girls generally start out with 'cute boys' before we start thinking about 'men'.

I think that maybe it's because for us, it's not about sex. For guys, from moment one it's about sex...and I wouldn't think 13 year old boys could get off on photos of some flat chested little girl in underoos or whateverthehell. But the Penthouse babes...shoot...guys probably start getting off on those women, starting with erection #1 of their lives. (tell me if I'm wrong here...but I doubt it )

Remember, for girls (and women) it's about feelings of connection. Not sex. And a little girl of 12 or 13 isn't going to feel 'connected' to a guy twice her age, at a whole 26 years old!

I think teeny-bop girls in the 11 to 13-14 age bracket are ripe for boys like this. As I said, look at any of these young (teenage) male pop stars through the years - all of them had audiences that consisted mainly of little girls who were just beginning to explore their new-found interest in boys. But like I said, that interest is more from an emotional place than a sexual place.

Of course, this is all just my theory...other girls might see it differently.

Problem is you start getting erections a couple years before you can get, um, "release" from them. So young boys are horny with no way of getting un-horny beyond just waiting it out. The "emotional place" other than sexual place makes a touch of sense. But I also look at it from an "evolutionary" an animal perspective. On those levels a female should be attracted to the male who can best provide and to best provide a male has to be strong both physically and mentally. Some soft-faced kid singing in high-pitch about feelings doesn't seem to fit that.

On a similar note men are going to be most attracted to (on an animal level) a female that can best "provide" for his next generation and that means wide hips (for passing the baby), ample breasts/nipples (for feeding) and good aesthetics (to ensure the propagation of the genes into future generations.)

So we look at a good looking woman, or a woman we find really attractive, and we're thinking "Hey! This woman would be GREAT to ensure my genes will power on!" A woman should look at a man and think "this guy can provide for me and protect me and my offspring!"

But, as you said, it seems men/boys reach the mentality of what will "best" for them/who they most want to be with sooner than girls realize the same thing (at least on a subconscious/evolutionary level) who go through this odd phase of, pretty much, crushing on other girls for a few years before crushing on men.
