After some thinking. I have finally got everything together for a new Star Trek series. Now this will be a series which combines both serious action adventures and some humor as well.
The series takes place 10 years after Voyager arrived back to Earth. Starfleet Headquarters are looking for a way to the Delta Quadrant via the Bajoran Wormhole (Deep Space Nine) and the Gamma Quadrant. Therefore a new ship the USS Discovery is assigned to this mission, to find the best way possible to the Delta Quadrant.
The main crew members are:
Captain Jimmy "Mac" Taylor. A grand-grand-grand-grandson (or whatever) to the legendary New York CSI investigator Mac Taylor. A qualified team-leader, great diplomat and skilled officer. I imagine Gary Sinise in the role for this character.
Commander Keiran MacDuff. Well, maybe the Satarrans have joined the Federation and the Satarran agent from the TNG episode "Conundrum" has become officer on this ship or this is the real Commander MacDuff who the Satarran agent was a clone of. Never mind, he will be the perfect action character and I want Eric Anderson as actor here.
Lieutenant Elizabeth Shelby. The same character as in the TNG episode "Best Of Both Worlds". The perfect female action character. I want Elizabeth Dennely in the role. An alternative character could be Ro Laren but unfortunately I doubt that Michelle Forbes will do that role again.
Lieutenant Ezri Dax. This character got a too short time in DS9 and is worth a second chance. I imagine her as the perfect Chief Of Security. Nicole DeBoer as the actress.
Ensign ALF, a.k.a Gordon Shumway. Due to Henry Starling's dabbling with time, poor Gordon found himself transported to the 24th century. Since Melmac has joined the Federation recently, he's given the chance to show off his piloting skills on this new ship.
Lieutenant Sheras. The Andorian Chief Engineer. Every other Trek series have had a Vulcan, a Klingon, a holographic doctor or an android. Now it's time for an Andorian.
Ensign Kalimash. A Tamarian Engineer. I always like to have a Tamarian on the ship. Imagine the Captain's reaction when he asks about the status of the warp engines and get the reply: "Shaka, when the walls fell!"
Lieutenant Kes. Well, it's me who is coming up with this idea. Therefore it wouldn't be complete without Our Favorite Ocampa. She will be the Ship Counselor and also expert on the Delta Quadrant. If jenn ifer Lien can't or won't do the role as Kes this time, I would recommend Kirsten Dunst or Laura Harris. They have the skills and the looks.
Dr Thaddeus Mabuse Tapp. The ship's doctor. A somewhat mysterious man, very skilled in his profession but also a bit odd because sometimes he can start talking with his patients about "the consistence of this particular beautiful pill", be seen walking around the ship whistling or singing the Rolling Stones song "Mother's Little Helper" or Fleetwood Mac's "Doctor Brown" or surprise female patients by singing "I'm the Medicine Man, the doctor of love" (Whitesnake song "Medicine Man") and then all of a sudden come up with a cure which will save a whole planet. I would like to see Ted Danson in that role.

The helmsman and the ship's counselor have a nice chat in the mess hall of the USS Discovery
