My Guess as to what the next one will be about.

The problem with the Borg is making them a movie villain is harder unless you make it a zombie flick which is probably going to make it close to an R rating. Or do what FC did which more or less made the Borg a cartoon villain that you knew was going to lose in the end without any real conflict.

Yeah, Kirk went from Earth to Kronos in a single day, so I don't thin travel time time will keep the Borg out if the producers want them.

Well, let's be honest here. Voyager already screwed that one up by having a Borg conduit appear right in front of Earth. So there's already a precedent for that kind of crap.

There are plenty of ways to make a quality Borg film. Don't discredit the idea just because you can't think of any.

I'd like to see the Gorn. We've seen enough of the damn Klingons and Borg in other Treks. Gorn are classic TOS villains and I'd love to see reptile aliens with modern special effects. It would probably pull in a big mainstream audience too, and it would be a different villain from the standard Klingons, Romulans, Borg, Khan crap.

I suspect we'll see the Klingons, but it'll be "out there" during the Five year mission. Maybe a race against the clock to recover an artifact or something else that could be a weapon that'll alter the balance of power in the Alpha and Beta quadrants.

As others have mentioned, if the Klingons wanted war, more than likely they would have done it in the intervening year at movie's end. But that's not to say the Cold War tensions between the two powers haven't continued.

I think the next movie's opening scene should be about the Enterprise investigating the explosion of Ceti Alpha VI. And they can make a joke like, "Man, it's a good thing this system is uninhabited."
