Waaaaaaaaay before my time. Old fogies. :p

Don't you have some cute young guys to hit on in the picture thread? :p

And yes, Monty Hall was the host of the long-running game show Let's Make A Deal, which ran from 1963-1977 and again from 1984-1986. It was brought back again last year, and according to IMDb, he's the executive producer but Wayne Brady is the host. (I haven't seen it myself since I was a kid.)

I think it's from that goofy episode where Data dreams. Deanna is a cake. Beverly drinks Riker's brain with a straw...good stuff!

Correct! It's from the season 6 episode Birthright Part 1

BZZT! Nope. It's "Phantasms," season 7, ep 6. Picard and Geordi are watching Data's dreams via the holodeck.

Seriously, Trekkies, I'm disappointed in you.

Ah that's right. I completely forgot that they had 2 dream episodes. I guess that's what I get for not watching the last 3 seasons of TNG since they first aired.

I knew it. I just didn't read the last page and a half until this morning.

I was right about the Deanna Cake, though, wasn't I?

yes, but you forgot about the mint frothting.

A pilot at low level had no control over his aircraft. It narrowly missed a crowd gathered for the airshow and slammed into four buildings. One can only imagine the horror of the occupants inside those buildings.

Huh, that's interesting. Compare the balloon picture you posted with this one here. Looks like the original wasn't deemed funny enough, so they fiddled it a bit for increased comedy value.

^Actually, the "original" looks more suspicous to me. Well, the one posted directly does look odd because the one being knocked seems further apart than the others are from each other.

I'm going to say that the "original" isn't the original.

Looking at the one with multiple portojohns, it appears that this is the fake. You can see a triangular "shadow" on the front every john, which happens to match up with the corner of the gondola covering up the first one.

Given that the john is out in a field, behind a fence, inaccessible to the crowd watching, I think this isn't what it seems at all. Perhaps the object was to knock it over to demonstrate one's ballooning skill.

Or it could be a circus act. At the Flying Circus in Warrenton, VA, one of the acts is for a buzzing biplane to drop a minor explosive on an occupied outhouse, "destroying" it.

Now, that would be some very fancy ballooning

Are we ready to move on?
