My God, it's full of THREAD BOMBS!

He had points?

52 minus and 12 plus -not that I'm counting.

But Tharped's use of ancient cats might be something you all like b/c this thread has devolved into a collection on ancient cat-'pictuers wit words on dem' anyway.

What I'm trying to say is that this thread hasn't been delivering for a looong time!

Posting things that used to be funny on 4Chan seems to be what this thread is about and Tharped is actually the only one that doesn't seem to be afraid to post ancient and/or lack-of-funny images. -I salute your audacity tharped! (Sure, I have as little understanding of yur usual postings as the rest of th eposters in here, but at least you are not pretentious about it; I'm pretty sure you know that that batch of oldies you just posted were indeed oldies, and that you posted them only to show this thread that you were able to be as boring as the rest of us…

No offense intended, but let's face it; this is a board where internet memes only appear after their sell-by date has long passed, months after the funny has dissolved… (otherwise I'd never be able to post anything even mildly amusing here)

However, I (and I suspect other members) don't really trawl the rest of the internet posting board world much and stay the hell away from 4chan, so because a meme is tired on there doesn't necessarily mean we have to be super-dismissive here.
Not to say some memes haven't completely run their course - demotivators in particular have just got ridiculous - but I still find the odd lolcat quite funny/clever.

I don't think the lolcat meme will ever die (well, actually I hope it won't :) ) as kittens are cute and can be made to say pretty much anything you'd like.

I mentioned 4chan b/c a lot of memes have had their run there ages before they get to this place (although I only ever go to the image collection myself) -usually the internet-funnies have a tendency to not start but end on the TBBS.

Furthermore it is a bit disappointing to see how few posters in this thread care to check if an image has been posted earlier in this very thread…

^To be fair though, there are just about 1950 posts in this thread. I doubt anyone is going to sit down and wade all the way back through 49 pages just to make sure they aren't posting a repeat. It took me several days just to get through one of the first couple thread bomb threads, and that was back when we had the 1000 post rule.

^Yeah, you're right, it is rather impossible to keep track :)

But still, most posters here have been here for the duration and should know better.

But I suppose it's ok to re-post stuff, I mean; just take a look at that gamers gif; when I originally posted it no one seemed to notice but last week it was the one big image in this thread -timing seems to be of some importance.

What's weird is, that has to have been taken after Spider-Man 3, but between the VHS movies and the Super Nintendo behind him, I'd have guessed it was the '90s.

Dee doo dee doo, dee doo dee doo.

Wasn't there an evil symbioted Spiderman in the 90s as well?

I waste enough time lurking on this board nearly every day, I don't have the time to check what's new in geekland that often - I work and I have a life - so who gives a shit if we're not keeping up with the rest of the internet? I won't be crying myself to sleep over it, and I sincerely hope no one else is, either.

There was, but he looked like this, instead of the inverted webbing design in the movie. That look never showed up until Spidey 3.
