Why would YouTube do that, though? They got something against our use of the [yt] tag?

 

No. Some YouTube users have embedding disabled.

 

I've always wondered about that. Does embedding reduce their number of hits, or what? I never disable it on videos that I post. :/

Then again, I don't calibrate my self-worth with the number of hits from random strangers on YouTube...

 

Disabling embedding forces you to go to their page to get pageviews for the ads, which they might profit from, or they might want to make sure you see what else they have in the playlist.

Given that some computer program on the web once told me that I look just like Laurence Fishburne (and, by extension, Charlie Brooker, thus making this recent piece of news even more galling ), I found it somewhat unnerving.

 

Yep, it's a personal vendetta by YouTube against TrekBBS's [yt] tag, Baba. This they will never forgive... or forgeeeeetttt.

My 13-year-old daughter would take extreme offense to this. OK, she knows who Bieber is, but she thinks he's a "complete loser" and is embarrassed that he's Canadian.
