My Enterprise F...

Titan Designer

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Now that the first stage of the Design the Next Enterprise contest is complete. I figured I would post a larger version of my design submission from the contest.

I am aware that not all like my design and it's hammerhead/ crescent section. I get that. I actually wanted to go away from the traditional with that. I also wanted to
make an Enterprise that would fit the Star Trek Online Time frame. A time Frame where the Federation is fighting a war on all fronts. So my design reflects the tougher
universe.

My design also incorporates a few of the Aventine's slipstream components in the Deflector and some detailing on the Nacelles. She is about 10% larger than the Ent-E.

I want to thank all of you out there that did vote for my design. I also want to wish all of the designs that have made it into the next round the best of luck.
I can't wait to see who ever wins design incorporated into the game.

Good Luck to All.

It's an interesting design, and very well done.

Most likely, people would have an issue with it being an Enterprise.

It makes a great "other" Federation ship though.

I tried the crescent design long ago because I recognized the potential of the temporal dynamic shape could be just as useful as a saucer. I tried dozens of permutation but I couldn't get what I wanted and there were problems with volume that I just didn't care for.

A little too alien looking for a Federation flagship, and the head is a little too heavy looking as well. Interesting design though, not seen someone try that in ages. You've almost pulled it off, and I do like the body a lot.

While I appreciate you trying to do something different, I really don't like it, especially for an Enterprise design.

Thanks for the coment.

That is fine with me even with the Titan not everyone liked or likes her design. I can live with that. I wanted to try something different. And that doen't always win people over. I wanted to stay away from a Ent-J feel. Something is just wrong with that design. Of course that is a couple centuries away from the Ent-F assuming she and the following Enterprises don't die a quick death.

*Note

I did design her to be a tough ship in battle. since the Fed is at war in the STO. You give up grace for the extra defenses. I wanted her to be fast at sub-warp speeds that is why the 4 impulse engines. Also something I did not show here is that she does saucer sep. the top two impulse engines stay with the cresent section while the bottom two are attached to the neck of the Stardrive. So you do get two ships for the price of one.

I like the plan view, but to me it's too much of a layer cake or stair-step design in the side views. If that were smoothed out more, I could definitely go for it.

That is something that can be fixed in a 3D Model. I would love to see what all you experts here could come up with. (3D Wise that is). Thanks for the Crit.

I almost wonder how the ship would look if the "saucer" were longer and pointier, almost like the Starfleet Delta. My biggest issue is that the hammerhead saucer just makes the ship seem really squat, and when I think "Enterprise," I don't think squat.

Exactly my feelings :techman:

That said, I'm always happy to see more of your designs, Sean.

No no.. yer wrong, the JJ-price is inferior, the Hammered class uses a whisky distillery for its engine room... warp 9 equals a 15 year old Glendronach revival edition single malt.. hmm now that gets things moving..
