My air-conditioner stopped working!

While the temperatures have been in the high 90s lately, I'm lucky that today is overcast, cool, and should stay that way for a day or two. Hopefully long enough to have someone come out and fix it. We probably should have the whole system given a once-over, since it hasn't had a tune-up in 8 years.

Some years back, it gave out with a minor problem in the middle of two weeks of 110 F.

Ouch. I hope you can get it fixed before things become unbearable.

Here it never got hot enough this Summer for me to bother to set mine up.

We went through most of June without A/C, but it got really hot this summer, and my house soaks up heat like a sponge. Now we have 3 air conditioners!

I had one window unit, but when the heat wave hit this summer I bought a second one. The one I had just couldn't hack it alone.

Yep, that's why I ended up with three. My roommate and I each have one in our bedrooms, and we have another one in our living room. Parts of the house still get kind of hot, but at least we can sleep now!

Relatively lucky, as I said. It's seriously cool today--with almost every window open, it's 80F. For this time of year, that's almost sweater weather!

Last night, Hubby and I slept in the living room with the windows open a bit. Now, we don't live in a "bad" area, but still, we've never left windows open at night. That's how much we needed yesterday's heat to get out.

Bloody Americans and your backwards unit of measurement . . .

I don't have A/C, but when it's 30 degrees out, I sure wish I did.

The Appliance Apocalypse may indeed be upon us. My refrigerator died a couple of weeks ago.

Add my standing fan to that rebelled company.

I had to switch to air-con, but prefer open windows and a fan.

Repairman came by today. Great because today was 90F! Just a little capacitor. The repairman also said that using those high-quality filters were actually making the system over-work, that we should stick with the cheap ones and replace them more often.

I love air-conditioning! But I gotta say, it works so well, that 79-80F is cold enough when it's this hot outside.

A 3M filter. Hubby bought them because they were on sale, 3/$1 instead of $5 each. They were touted as being really great for cleaning the air. They might be, but it's not worth over-working the system.
