MW3

I'm sure I've said this every prestige I've gone through so far, but it bears repeating..... I finally got my MK14 back tonight, and I realized how much I missed my baby. After I got it back, I had an hour long stretch where I was going about 6:1 in my KDR.

Also, are they increasing the size if teams in TDM? For most of the evening, I was in a lobby with 9 person teams. I was definitely in TDM and not Ground War. It was kinda bizarre.

I don't know, I've just been playing the FFA Community playlist, mostly for All or Nothing game mode. It's been a nice change of pace... I think I like AoN and One in the Chamber better than how it was in Black Ops from what I remember, but the 18 and 3x6 gun games kind of blow. Not much variety. In Black Ops you had the rocket launchers, grenade launcher, stupid ass ballstics knife... akimbos. It was just a more interesting progression, even if it wasn't necessarily that fair. A lot of the best weapons were in the middle of the progression. I liked that.

i'm redoing the campaign on veteran, taking me longer this time. did manage two achievements this time out: Kill Box - 20 kills with the remote turret on Return to Sender and Danger Close - get a helo shot down with an air-strike marker on Bag and Drag. I'm also picking up the Intel this time, so I've got Informant too.

okay, so i finished the campaign on veteran and collected all the intel items and now my main menu is showing my progress as 100.3% WTF?! Anyone else get that?

Yep, that's the same as what I got on Xbox. They're not so good with the maths.

I would like to point out that the shotgun attachment is the biggest piece of shit ever put into any game. I was trying to get all the challenges for my main 3 weapons (ACR, MK14, and P90) and I've given up on the shotty attachments. There isn't any way in hell I'm going to get to 40 kills twice and resist the urge to put my hand through my monitor. It took me 3 games to get 6 kills with it and I went somewhere in the range of 3-14 each game.

Yeah, the shotgun attachment in MW3 is complete garbage. I noticed that while doing the weapon challenges for the weapon XP bonus. Turns out the bonus is nowhere near worth trying to use that piece of crap. You will not kill a guy with a perfect shot from like 2 feet away. It literally has less effective range than the knife. So stupid.

i've got 8 with mine on the M4 and i got 4 of them at extremely close range. like knifing range. and two of those were cuz the guy was prone and one was simply repeatedly firing until the bastard went down. i'm not doing another assault rifle class...

The DLC calendar has updated - besides the 2 new maps in April (360 elite), we're now getting 4 maps in May as well.

Given Bowling's recent comments about older maps being released as free and not as part of the DLC, and the abrupt nature of his resignation, a sudden increase in the number of maps could well mean that nostalgia maps are on the way.

4 new maps in one drop is a lot - it really wouldn't surprise me if we've seen at least 2 of May's maps before.

From memory, the maps found on the PC version's code were - Overgrown, Crash, Crossfire, Shipment and Highrise. I'd absolutely love to see Crossfire again, but any of those maps would be fine with me, even though we've seen them all before.

Speaking of maps - April's DLC for 360 elite users is today;

2 maps - Sanctuary - a Greek monastry up in the mountains, and Foundation which looks like BlOps' Radiation, set in South Korea.

I've barely even played Black Box. I've done pretty much a whole prestige worth on the FFA gunplay list and they don't appear to add any of the new maps to any of those game modes. It also never has Downturn, and I'm totally ok with that.

Downturn and Interchange are, IMO, two of the worst maps ever designed for CoD - they make Bloc play like a masterpiece.

I've warmed up to Interchange some. For FFA game types at least. I don't know if I like it that much for team games, but it seemingly always gets voted down anyway.

The level I haven't been liking lately is Arkaden. I used to think it was ok, but it's been plummeting to the bottom of the list for me. Combat gets focused too much into the clusterfuck at the top of the mall, and that area just isn't fun to play.

I still really like Lockdown as a map, but it kind of sucks in the 3x6 and 18 Guns modes, because the spawns are completely ridiculous.

I'm actually a huge fan of Interchange... not sure why, but I've always found that map incredibly fun. On the flip side, I absolutely despise Downturn. The only time I ever vote on the maps is when Downturn is an option and I add my 2 cents for getting it shot down. Fortunately, everyone else usually agrees with me.

i actually got 4 shotty attachment kills today and could've had at least 3 more. mostly by coming up on people's blindside or flanking them. had 2 on Seatown, one on UNderground and one on Dome. Could've had 3 more on Seatown, but 2 i took headshots and one guy i knifed. could've had another on Underground (same guy in the same place. muppet) but i headshot him too...

Foundation - urgh

Decent map ruined by atrocious spawning. Literally half of all my deaths on that map last night were spawn related. The worst incident was when I respawned, moved and almost instantly died. Thought I'd been spawn-killed, but no, on watching the replay I could see that the guy in question had spawned into the exact same spawn point a split second after I'd vacated it.

Sanctuary - looks great, but makes it far, far too easy to camp. If you occupy the top end of the map, which is more elevated then it's incredibly difficult for the other side.

The spawn issues in the FFA Gunplay list happen all the time. Espeically in One in the Chamber and All or Nothing. I've had some terrible spawns in normal gametypes but I don't know if I've had the split second spawn behind someone who just spawned in the exact same spot happen in a normal game type. Somehow it doesn't surprise me that it's getting worse.

I will say that it's incredibly annoying when it happens during One in the Chamber. You only have 3 lives for the entire round, and losing one like that is beyond frustrating.

Not sure when I'll check out the new maps. I'm at level 50 or so on this prestige and still haven't created a custom class. I'm digging not having to worry about my loadout, and playing a game type where everybody is working with the same perks, weapons, and limitations. Also not getting blown up randomly by Predator missiles is nice.
