MW3

I think BF3 works better if you are organized

Absolutely- that is the joy of BF3, teamwork and strategy. When something goes 'right', it is just an awesome feeling.

MW3 works better in lone wolf mode as your personal skill matters far more but god forbid you have an organized clan in the lobby and they halfway know what they're doing.. you have no chance.

True dat! Whenever I'm in a lobby and one side is all the same clan tag, I am out of there! But that does make the point that you CAN have coordinated group tactics in MW3 and using them DOES give you a significant advantage- it's not all 'lone-wolfing'.

As I say, they are both good games- although yeah, BF3 really feels less polished next to MW3.

Running with a regular group (clan) does allow team tactics in MW3. And playing Lone Wolf is fine on TDM/FFA but objective games tend to go to the best communicating team. I posted sick numbers in Kill Confirmed last night-but was Lone Wolf-ing it. Won 2 out of 7 despite out scoring everyone in the lobby. Every game. You just can't do it alone. Your teammates have to either talk it up or have a REAL good understanding of what they should do based on what others are doing around them. That's too rare to hang any impressive W/L ratio on.

We tend to either play as a full 6 player-clan if we're all online, or as a 2 when only a few of us make it. Sometimes 2 players communicating is enough to tip the balance but if you're playing against any sort of half-decent team you're probably going to lose.

It's amazing sometimes, a couple of us play more often than the rest, and our styles are quite different - we play DOM, the other guy takes flags, and I defend them. Some games we have insane scores and points, yet lose. You're left wondering what exactly the rest of the team are up to. Most of the time, they're sat in the very middle of the map playing TDM.

And this is the primary reason ricochet in hardcore is a dumb idea. Sometimes the "greenies" need to be team killed.

Lost a Kill confirm match yesterday with me and 4 friends because the lone greenie kept using smoke and obscuring vital areas, getting us killed over and over. :scream:

That's a gripe with me too.. people either not understanding the mode or simply don't caring.

I mainly play Kill Confirmed and i've stopped counting how many times players kill a guy and then not make the extra second to run over to the dog tag and pick it up to score a point.

If you're just in it for the shooting and "killing" just play Deathmatch games.. why bother with other modes and ruin/make it harder for the others?

I stop playing KC when it became clear that 90% of the people playing it were just boosting - "get the kill, fuck the tag, get another kill" - If you can't play it right then fuck off and play Battlefield 3 FFS.

i got it yesterday. started campaign mode today. i'm up to the diamond mine mission already.

mind you, this is on 'regular'. i fully expect it to be a cast-iron bitch on veteran.

I finished the campaign on Saturday night and started playing Spec Ops. Today:

doing a hell of a lot better than I did with MW2 at the start. I've decided though, that I'm going to not worry about doing challenges and stuff, I'm just going to play it and have fun and not treat it as Serioous Business like I do MW2.

and yeah, this is after I said 'not playing MP on MW3'.

Mainly cuz I was sick of my callsign on Spec Ops being the FNG/dogtags set up that's all you have when you start.

I actually find that doing the challenges makes it MORE fun for me. If I was just playing to get kills and points it would get real boring real fast. Having a mission every time I boot up a level means that each level is different- and even if I don't get a good killcount that game, if I've even chipped away at one of my challenges a little bit, that's something, y'know?

^ that's how i treated MW2, but it leads to me getting infuriated when i spend a match getting my ass kicked and i don't achieve anything or i get a few decent matches but no kill-streaks or headshots which i need for challenges.

The only challenges I actually go out of my way to do is the daily/ weekly challenges and the challenges on my 3 primary weapons. Everything else will just happen if they happen. I've gotten my ass beaten silly way too many times trying to focus on challenges for it to be too much fun anymore.

Of late the 1000 headshots challenges have kept me going. Already got the M4 one, but really wanted the L118A one. As soon as I got the L118A one I switched to the MSR so that I could start on that. Sadly, despite the stats being exactly the same, it's half the gun that the L118A is.

Now, I'm prestige 13, nearly 14 so I can keep my interest up enough to max out at 15.

i'm up too level 19 after 2 hours 19 game play time. jesus christ i'm doing way better on this than i did on MW2 to start with. on Spec Ops though, I'm a lieutenant...

I'm only a P7 but I've qualified the M4, PP90, MP7, and P90 for the 1000 headshots. Ironically, the game says my accuracy is about 3.51%. Go figure.

3.51 percent? Damn son, when you pee does any of it end up in the toilet?

I have never focused on the headshot challenges. In core mode it's just a way to get killed, as the first shot might land on their head and then the recoil will make the follow up shots miss. I will go for the head with sniper rifles and the MK14.. though I have precious little time logged with sniper classes. Let's face it, sniping is kind of pointless in MW3. The maps don't lend themselves to real sniper gameplay at all. At best a couple of maps have like 2 spots where I sniper can camp out, and that's it. Everything else is just going to be quickscoping/no-scoping nonsense or just being completely outclassed by shorter range weapons.

BF3 sniping on the other hand is a lot of fun. Though very challenging to bring a guy down that's running full speed at 500 meters.

Sniping maps - Mission, Bakaara, Resistance, Fallen & Seatown

At least they're the ones I snipe on.

Re the low accuracy - are you using the akimbo FMGs? Some of our lot are around 6/7% accuracy and it's because they're using the FMGs.

I wouldn't touch an FMG if you paid me. My accuracy suffers because I'm a good shot -stupid, huh? I like to use PP90/p90/MP7/twin MP-9s. All spray n pray weapons. Here's how being a good shot actually hurts that statistic: I come flying at a goon w/PP90. I fire-and more often than not, the first bullet takes him out w/a head shot, or the 2-3 ones finish him. Problem is, I've fired like 10 bullets, so 7 of them hit NOTHING. And my accuracy degrades. On the other hand, some punk heard me telling a friend my stat(s) and started mocking me in the pre-game. He annoyed me enough that I ignored team play and went after his team with a vengeance. I finished 47-7 with 4850 pts. He accused me of having an "aimbot" afterwards. :guffaw: With a 3.51% accuracy?

My accuracy was around 21% when I was using the Type 95 all the time. Now I've switched to the ACR it's dropped to around 12%.

Also, got the Collection 1 pack on Tuesday. Loving the new maps.

I'm Elite so I've had them-its nice to get to play them in normal lists now. Black Box is great, so is Piazza and Overwatch. They can junk Liberation and I wouldn't miss it.
