Musical thoughts to TNG's "The Royale" - a prequel of sorts

Hi guys,
Long time lurker, first time post!
So I've always loved TNG episode "The Royale" and I think part of it is that I love the whole "lost astronaut" theme with that poor guy who was stranded there for the rest of his life. What would be like to live your life in a virtual hotel? About a year ago I wrote a song from THAT guy's perspective and pondered on what it would be like to him. Did he have a wife? What was his life like on earth? Who paid his tab at the bar? (Okay, I don't really answer that last one)

I really don't have any star trek-friends to discuss this with, and I'm so sorry if this is just the wrong sub to bring this up, but If you want to have a listen to a Star Trek inspired song... Well here it is :)

Youtube link, but spotify is underneath if you want to follow :)

Very professional quality - wish I could get that good vocal quality from my own studio. Really nice voice - I take it you're the singer?

The lyrics and song plan would fit comfortably with the style of Five Year Mission - although they restrict their songs to episodes from the original series (hence the name) and their style is more up-tempo rock with a punk edge.

Thanks!! rbs

Thanks, Robert! Yes, I'm doing the singing, guitar, and percussion. Nothing really expensive going on in the vocal chain, but I'm glad you think my recording/mixing sounds professional. I did use a pretty good mid-price tube mic, and get quite crazy when EQing top end, but that's about it. Would also highly recommend waves's plugins of the LA2A and the Fairchild.

I'll check out Five Year Mission - anything specific you would recommend ?

Pretty much everything by them rocks. You can find them on YouTube. City on the Edge of Forever is probably their most watched video.

My band, il Troubadore (in our Klingon guise as bom wi' pu'), did a few "battles of the bands" with them at Starbase Indy in the early teens.
