What kind of music do you like? Just a curiosity test.

My taste is mainly confined to folk rock, hip hop, blues, jazz, classical, and rock.

Way too much to list. Just about everything. I'll usually give anything a listen, with the exception of old school country, folk, and bluegrass.

I'm usually all about the metal though, then going harder into bands like NIN and Type O Negative.

Almost any genre (except rap, hip-hop, grunge and techno) as long as it's not extreme. Light classical, but not chamber music. Country pop but not twangy country. Rock, pop, broadway, big band, standards, movie scores ... if there's talent, musicality and melody in it, I usually like it.

I will listen to just about anything, but it's obvious from my CD collection that the genre I will fall back on is that of film and television scores. Beyond that I listen to a lot of jazz, and a lot of everything else.

I like both kinds of music: Country and Western. ;)

I enjoy a lot of music genres. Rock, soul, R&B, country, hip hop, classical. All include stuff I love and stuff I hate.

I like many kinds of music from lots of different genres. I have recently made peace with my two most hated genres, alt-country and happy hardcore.

For a twist, try mashup music (YouTube has got some prime examples if you enter "Mashup" into the search engine). OK, most of it is dance, RnB, hip-hop, classic pop and modern rock, but you get a few curveballs from other genres too including classic rock, 60s pop, jazz, classical, country-western, and even Charleston. Definitely comes ZR approved. :bolian:

I wouldn't really say I have a favourite type of music. I'll pretty much give any thing a try, if I like it I like it, if I don't I don't. I don't generally put disliking something down to it's genre, because there are bad examples of everything out there.

I'd probably say I have more Rock and Rap/hip hop than anything else though, some of my favourite bands are harder to define than giving them a genre or a style though.

I like whatever music appeals to my ears. I'm not a "fan" per se of genres, I really don't care what the genre is. If I like it, I like it.

Classical, jazz, real oldies (like Etta Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra), folky music, Bob Dylan and minimalism, especially Phillip Glass.

Sometimes I like to go onto iTunes and listen to all the versions of some well known song like The House of the Rising Sun. I recently looked for the soundtrack to Ken Burns' The Civil War, which veered me into doing a search for all the versions of The Battle Cry of Freedom, which has real lyrics! And here I always though that was how you sing Mary Had a Little Lamb at summer camp. :p

I've completely lost track of all the popular music nowadays. I couldn't even tell you what bands or singers do what songs.

Oh, I utterly love Fitzgerald, Sinatra, Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong... as well as some classic rock, and film & TV scores.

I like a bit of everything really (bar rap, hip-hop and some of the more extreme metal sub-genres). I'm particularly fond of a lot of 80s Rock & Pop but there's plenty of variety in my album collection to put it mildly :D

Country and Western, Pop from 1940's to mid 1980's, light classical, American standards, 1950's & 60's instrumental, Southern rock...

I love a station out of Toronto: am740. I can pick them at along the US East Coast at night.

I pretty much like anything except hip-hop and rap and that 'death metal' rubbish. I don't really like country & western stuff, except once many years ago somebody sent me Kevin Denney's 'That's Just Jesse,' which I find myself listening to occasionally. Quite often, actually.

If I had to list my favourite artists, I dunno about the order anymore so much, but Belinda Carlisle, Stereophonics, Foo Fighters, SR-71, 3 Doors Down, and Roxette would be at the top.

I listen to just about every genre of popular music except rap. A few examples: Josh Rouse, The Beatles, Television, Radiohead, Townes Van Zandt, The Gourds, John Mayer, White Stripes, Coldplay, Weezer, John Hartford.

The pop hybrids of every genre which the purist hate The smooth jazz that the jazz snobs hate. The pop/country that the country western people hate. The rap/metal which the metalheads hate. Etc.

I also like the source music, especially in jazz, that the snobs pull out to say this is authentic, fill in the blank, music.

Listen to alot of tv and film soundtracks but i usually listen to music by :
Nightwish
Evanescence
Apocalyptica
Within tempetation
Tarja Turunen
ACDC
Lordi
