Music Hosting Websites

Howdy,

I'm looking for the right music hosting website. During my free time, I like to play with music apps like Xewton Music Studio and FL Studio. They song made aren't high quality so I'm trying to avoid music sites that tailored to those groups. Really, I'm looking for the YouTube equivalent music hosting site that's tailored to every type of musician.

Anyone know any good music sites?

Both costs money but they're fun. You can create any type of song. FL Studio is a PC program and an android app. Xewton is an iPhone app.

Soundcloud is probably the best choice at this point.

Worst thing about that site on the user end is the fact that it autoplays even after you've finished hearing the thing you want to hear.

From a content uploader perspective, it's pretty great.

Soundcloud seems too high end. Uploading songs like mine would feel like donating doodle art to a museum. That's a problem that I'm running into with most of the available music uploading sites.

Have you considered Tindeck? I use it to upload songs I'm working on.

^I'm going to try that out. It looks like what I'm looking for (my music is closer to midi music than studio music, which they host).

Well, the downloads are fine but the embedded player on the site sounds garbled.

I'm going to play around with it a bit.

Good luck with it. I've had no problems with the built in player, but I hope it works out for you.

I think I lost all of my Xewton songs when my last PC crashed but I've uploaded the Fl Studio Mobile files. It's says direct links aren't available to free users but they offered direct links anyway. Just testing to see if they work. Here's a link to a pop song I made. Let me know if it works.

They offer links to the page but I swear the embedded player is playing at a lower bit rate than the actual file. The download link on the page however (the link I pasted), plays the correct bit rate and doesn't sound off. If that works, I'll make a thread and link to all of my songs there. (I like almost every genre, so don't base my music style on that link)

As soon as I click a link, it starts the download. As for your song, I like it. I really do. There's just something about it that resonates with me, like it belongs as part of a soundtrack in an art film. It creates a sense of wandering upbeat melancholy, if that makes any sense?

You're quite welcome. When you decide to open up your music page for others to see, let me know (as of right now, the link directly downloads the MP3 rather than taking one to the page itself).

^It's really only because it clashes with the content that's already on my YouTube page.

Posting my songs in a bit.

Edit: The page is up.

tharpdevenport, you can post your works on that page too if you like.
