Multiple Personality Doctor Story?

Or you could get the former actors to play themselves again. The rest of the world sees one Doctor, acting out multiple personalities, we see those personalities as each different Doctor.

Expensive as hell, but you could have Doctors 5, 7, 8, 9, 10...and maybe 4 and 6 if they agreed to behave, wear a wig, and lose a little weight.

.. would have to recast 1,2 and 3 to get all 10 of them. It worked out well with 1 int he five doctors IMO.

Unfortunately, it's very unlikely Chris Eccleston will ever reprise his role as the 9th Doctor. Which is a shame. It would be great to see him again someday.

Has no one watched "Castrovalva?" Five walks around for about half the story popping in and out of his past personnas. No SFX, just some nice acting by Davison.
I love that sequence. It was a wonderful tribute and I would love to see it again.

Yeah it is great. If I remember rightly the one Doctor he doesn't immitate is Baker, which I guess makes sense as he was the most recent one.

I didn't know about that! "Castrovalva" is one of the few old episodes I have on DVD, but I never noticed that Davison was acting like specific former incarnations. Could you tell me what he does for each of them so I can watch for it next time?

I didn't mind them rehashing TOS storylines, it was when they started rehashing DS9 and Voyager stories that I got annoyed.

Which rehash from the Original series was it?

Well I'm not sure which TOS stories they redid, but the audacity of rehashing the living holograms tale from DS9 and having the guy who played Odo in the episode was just painful!

I can understand why. I think he'd probably happily be in Who, and probably happilt be The Doctor, he just doesn't want to actually play his dad's Doctor.

A lot of people seem to have this attitude, which is really rather puzzling. As far as I know, Eccleston has never said he wouldn't return to Doctor Who for a reunion special--in point of fact, he hasn't talked about Doctor Who at all since he left it, perhaps due to whatever murky circumstances under which he left the role. Most people (fairly reasonably, I'll admit) associate his reluctance to discuss the show with a perceived reluctance to ever return to it, but this doesn't necessarily follow. It's just as possible that with the distance of time, and with a totally different production team on the show to that Eccleston worked with, he might be willing to contribute to the show again someday. Again, we don't know, and we're not likely to until the day comes.

As long as we never see a photoshoot with Smith, Tennant, McGann, et.al., with a wax dummy of Christopher Eccleston....

What's this about Eccleston leaving in murky circumstances? As I understand, when the return of Dr Who was announced, he contacted RTD, with whom he'd worked before and said he'd be interested in playing the role, if Davies hadn't already cast it.

When they discussed the role formally, Eccleston said he only wanted to do one season to avoid typecasting and this was agreed to. THe plan had been to keep this quiet until the end of his run, so that the regeneration in TPOTW would be a surprise, but the Sun broke the story after the first new episode, Rose, aired.

Is there more to it?

If TOS can rehash its own previous episodes, I think the spin off can do the same. ;)

Jon Culshaw as the Forth Doctor!!!

Though he could play the fourth in a New Series story.

How about this for a story line.....

Back when the the third regenerated into the fourth at UNIT HQ, they took a blood sample and they tested out some alien tech on the Doctor, one fo the items was a Neural scanner, but they didn't know what it was back then and it "seemed" to do nothing. Have it a dark story where UNIT has finally figured out WHAT the device did and that it has a copy of the Doctor's Neural scans after he regenerated in the fourth.. They find that it can imprint the though patterns on someone, but they wear off quickly leading UNIT to use some other alien tech to "Clone the fourth doctor" and then use the Neural device to imprint the memory scans using the other tech, namely UNIT wants their "The Doctor" consultant back.

Have the 11th one walking down the street investigating something when all of the sudden the clone fourth steps out into the street and surprises him.....

Could be a fun story to bring back the fourth...
