Americans certainly are more looks obsessed than in other countries.
Just compare the teeth of those in US tv shows to those in UK shows for one example/

I don't know--the page 3 girls have pretty nice teeth.

I agree with Korasine. Americans are clearly the MOST obsessed people about appearances than any other country today..that was clearly the main point I was trying to come out and say before I was dismissed as a bigot for merely stating a fact.

Like I said I disagree based on my experiences living in Europe but we've been off the original topic for a while now. Not that the current topic isn't one worth exploring but it would be a great one for the Miscellaneous forum.

Unless the OP objects I'm going to go ahead and shut this one down. Hopefully we can continue the appearances topic elsewhere.
