Mr. Mister 'lost album' to finally be released

I dunno if any of you still care about Mr. Mister but they are (and always will be) one of my favorite 80's bands. Plus their lead guitarist was from Fremont which is right close to here, so that's a plus as well. :p

Anyway, as some of my fellow old fogies may know, they had a fourth album - Pull - which has lain dormant ever since it was recorded (in about 1991) and has gone unreleased ever since that time, although one of its tracks did appear on their Greatest Hits album. Richard Page, the lead singer/bassist, has posted on his official site (richardpagemusic.com) that after all these years the album is finally being prepped for release! He says it will be out within a few weeks, sometime in October.

Again I don't know how many of you still listen to music like this but I just thought I had to share it. Also you can go to Richard's website and get a free download of one of the tracks from the album. :techman:

Richard says that Pull is the best album they've ever done. I believe it, too. I've heard 'leaked' versions of its songs and they are really cool. I love the free track that I got (We Belong to No One).

The Wiki entry on the band says that they are reuniting to support the album although I don't know how true that is.

All I have ever heard from Mr. Mister was "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie". Those songs are ok, but nothing to write home about.

Are these indicative of the broader canon of their work or do you think their work is typically better than those two songs?

I don't know, I think these guys are pretty full of themselves. One time I saw them on the street and I was like "Hey, you guys are Mister Mister!" And they were like "That's Mister Mister Mister to you, buddy."

This post is dedicated to the memory of whichever standup comic first told that joke in the '80s.

Bump:

I got an email from Little Dume Recordings (Mr. Mister's current label). They say that Pull will be out in about a week. By physical CD or digital download from them. They also said the iTunes Store will have the album available, but they get it first.

Also, the band has reunited to tour in support of the album! Three of them, anyway (minus Steve Farris, the lead guitarist I mentioned earlier).
