Contest: ENTER Movie Musicals Avatars

Our next set of Avatars is going to be movie musicals. The Musical has to have been written and made for the movies. If it was made into a stage musical after that, it is eligible. Other ineligible movies would be movies that have a soundtrack, but none of the characters sing it, like "Footloose" or the biographies of muscians, "La Bamba," "What's Love Got To Do With It," and the like. Also still image 200x200 pix gif max 1MB, as usual only three entries per person. This thread will be open until 11:00PM Central Time Saturday evening. Roughly 5 days should be enough time.

Right, is it one entry per user? And if it's three, is there a reason your second and third entries break the rules about size?

A still picture 200x200 Pix, a Gif is less than 1Mb . Mine come close to the 1Mb threshold, the files on my computer shown them as 851 Kb, 968 Kb, and 799 Kb. My understanding of previous rules were that a gif could be outside the 200x200 Pix so long as it was under 1 Mb. Was my understanding incorrect?

Afraid so. The 200x200 pixels limit was always for gifs, as well. These limitation rules have been based on the actual Trek BBS rules for avatars. It used to be lower numbers back before the big forum overhaul a few years back.

I mean, it is your contest, so you may change the rules, it's just that you wrote "as usual", which is why I thought I'd ask.

This reminds me of something I wonder about now and then. Most of the avatar entries are gifs and have been for a long time. Is it even possible to use a gif as one's avatar?

Yes, but the animation only works when you click on it. In normal forum mode, it shows as a still image, just like it's showing way smaller than 200x200 pixels. It's to keep the bandwidth of the pages low.

Also my BIL and Little Sister, who are staying with us to help with Mom since some days I don't get any sleep taking Mom to the doctor after working all night, he tested positive for Covid. And my birthday is this coming this Friday, 54 trips around the sun, and if I test positive no birthday party for me.

Sorry, that was definitely a stage production before it was adapted for screen. Sure, it was originally a Roger Corman B-movie from the 60s, but that wasn't a musical.

Alright people. My 82 year-old mother just tested positive for Covid. Right now I'm taking a break from running around finding extra test kits. We only have 1 left after my sister and myself took a test. We both tested negative. I'll have the voting thread up later tonight. Possibly late tonight.

Covid Clause is coming to my home. I think I pushed the swab too far up my nose because now my head hurts.

No Christmas for the Vanyel home. If my sister and I keep Covid free we'll do Christmas dinner on New Years day.

My mother slept in her room and missed the game, that's why the Cowboys lost.
