Most Trek-like Films Not Star Trek

Which film would make an excellent Star Trek film? And for what reasons?

E.g., obviously, Master & Commander: a ship on a mission far from home, a captain and his medical officer/scientist/friend, exploration and science vs. military duty, a cunning and respectable adversary, who is overcome by using clever tricks and fighting spirit, classical music as a pasttime... and so on.

If it were a movie, I'd say it would be fair game in this discussion. The Orville jar is for when people treat it as a de facto Trek show.

Back to the Future IV: Doc realizes that a descendant of Biff Tannen started WWIII and finds a way to prevent him from doing so, thus causing the vanishing of the Federation! Temporal agents from Daniels' time intervene to put things back where they were...

Renegades: The Requiem
(For anyone who doesn't know, that's a sequel to a Star Trek fan film, using many Trek actors in their original roles but with the serial numbers filed off following the Axanar lawsuit)
Could almost be a prequel!?
To TOS in isolation, possibly. To the modern Trek universe? Nope.

Riker and the Titan as film: they explore the Planet of the Apes........ Some crew members are taken prisoner. Riker has to deal with the Ape leaders to get them free......

Planet of the Vampires (1965).

Ship receives distress signal from mysterious planet. Encounters ruins of ancient spaceship. Bodiless aliens possess the bodies of the newly dead. Trouble ensues.

Just give it a happier ending and you've got a Trek episode.

Enemy Mine 1985: well, it's already been pillaged by the writers of TNG... AND ENT.

Wait... I forgot about DS9!!!

I'll let you guess which episodes I am thinking of.

We don't have to limit ourselves to SF films. It occurs to me that "From Russian with Love" could be easily turned into a Trek episode: Beautiful Romulan operative offers to defect to the Federation, but only if James T. Kirk handles the operation. Twist: it's all secretly a Klingon plot to disgrace Kirk and get their hands on a cloaking device.

"From Romulus with Love."

"Gold Pressed Latinum Finger": A Ferengi megalomaniac is planning to rob the largest depot of latinum in the Quadrant!
