To TOS in isolation, possibly. To the modern Trek universe? Nope.

Any particular reasons why not?

I’m admittedly mostly a TOS fan, but, I’ve long taken it for granted that Forbidden Planet was de facto canonical.

It's implied that Robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet is self-maintained but given how short its arms are it's hard to believe. How can it oil all the parts of its body? Plus it kinda looks like if it fell, it couldn't get back up by itself, like an upturned turtle...

Maybe they are telescoping arms that can get longer or shorter as needed.
