Most reused Trek actor

JD

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Over the past year or so I've noticed on Memory Alpha, that the Trek reused guest actors alot more than I thought, so that's gotten me to wondering who is the most reused Trek acotr? As in which one played the most different characters throught all of the series (not including different versions of the same character)?

Actually, it's Vaughn Armstrong, who has played 13 different characters. Jeffery Combs is second with 9.

If I remember, there are around 30 - 40 actors having several appearences in the same series or in multiple series. Combs has the most. James Cromwell has several.

Armstrong has 13?! Whoa. That's a lot.

For live action roles, Vaughn Armstrong does hold the record. Although, if you want to include TAS, James Doohan easily claims the title.

Vaughn Armstrong, of course. And Majel Barrett as the computer voice in TNG, VOY, ENT (one episode) sometimes on DS9, and at least once in TOS (Assignment Earth), as well as Nurse Chapel and Number One in TOS, and Lwaxana Troi in TNG and DS9, and the voices of Nurse Chapel and Lt. M'Ress in TAS.

Vaughn Armstrong should get some role - *any* role - in ST XI, because TOS is the only form of Trek he has never done.

Of course, I'm biased, 'cos he is my favorite actor of all time. Armstrong rocks! :bolian:

I know it's not the most, but how many has Marc Alaimo done? It's at least a few if my memory serves.
I remember Gul Dukat, Gul Macet, and some gambler in Time's Arrow.

Armin Shimmerman and Max Grodenchik racked up quite a few roles in addition to Quark and Rom. Tim Russ has several, too.

He was a cop in that "Sisko dreams of the 50s" episode (sorry, no good on titles after TNG).

Amnd, though it is nowhere near the record, I always like to point out the venerable Joseph Ruskin, the only actor to appear in all five incarnations of Trek (well, his TNG appearance was in "Insurrection," but it was an incarnation of TNG, at least).

Far Beyond the Stars. :)

Also, Marc was one of the Lizard people in that early TNG episode (Lonely Among Us).

somebody had a list of all the multi-role actors and their roles...

Suzie Plakson is the highest for a woman IIRC. Tarah on ENT, Female Q on VGR and both Selar and K'Eylher(sp) on TNG.

Wow, I had no idea Vaughn Armstrong had played so many different characters. IMO it's pretty impressive that he played 2 other characters, while he was Forrest.

I agree with LCARS 24 about Majel Barrett. I mean she may not have had a crazy amount of different Characters, but she was in all the series or at least close to them all. She was also in a bunch of the movies. If not as a character than as the voice of the Computer. Also I just went to vegas and went to star trek the Experience and on the Klingon Encounter ride she was the Vocie of the comoputer again. So if you talking about the most recurring person She in my opnion would be it.

I just looked on Memory Alpha, and Majel actually did 11 different characters in TAS, and she was the voice of Suspiria in VOY: Cold Fire. I also just checked James Doohan, and (if I counted correctly) he did approximately 49 different voices. So if we include all of those, I think we can safely say that he played the most different characters.
