Most over used word in Trek Lit?

I've never really noticed a recurring word in TrekLit, but I just read about 50 Ray Bradbury stories in a row and he uses 'rocket' and 'leprosy' in nearly every story. It was almost annoying. :p

Yeah. That Bradbury. What a derivative hack ... :)

I remember once there was a stretch of maybe five Peter David books where every one included the phrase "T'is enough. T'would serve." I swear, I was ready to commit violence if I ever saw those words outside of Romeo and Juliet again by the time I read his last use of it. I mean, he's mention the same quote or poem or something in a few different books before, but for some reason this got really annoying for me.

I looked it up just to be sure, he uses the word 'rocket' on
91 different pages in The Illustrated Man
76 different pages in 'The Golden Apples of the Sun'
107 different pages in '100 of His Most Celebrated Tales'

Good collections, just a little irritating for some reason, probably because we use 'ship' and 'spaceship' now.

I agree with Christopher - Warp Core Breach is used so much it has lost impact.

One other phrase that annoys me is "temporal anomoly". I am so tired of them showing up.

They, like time travel eps/stories show up all the time, but are rarely good. IMHO of course.

There's an unremarkable line of dialogue from Camelot that I use in every one of my plays and libretti. Sometimes it's REALLY hard to fit it in there, but it's fun to try.

And ... no. :)

Yeah, there's always a different word, usually a particular adjective, that he'll use a noticeable number of times in each of his books.
