Denise Crosby. Never really bought that she was the badass that Tasha Yar suppossedly was.
It is better than the alternative. Can you imagine Marina Sitis in that role?

Now that I think of it, I bet Katie Sackhoff would've made an excellent Yar.
I always thought Kate Mulgrew as Janeway was bad casting. There was something about her that just didn't say "Starfleet Captain" to me. Granted sher was the runner up but from the little footage I've seen of Geneviève Bujold in the role she wasn't any worse.
Ethan Phillips as Neelix.
I thought the role would show Neelix as a kind of interstellar Davy Crockett, but Phillips played him like an interstellar waiter.
A very annoying waiter.
This isn't really a miscast, per se, but I thought Robin Curtis' Saavik was so different than Kirstie Alley's Saavik that they should've renamed the character completely.
And why was she on Genesis with David anyway? Last I checked she was a trainee in Command school. It would've made more sense if it was a different character in STIII.
Avery Brooks has to be the most miscast and overrated actor in Star Trek history. I never detected any emotion from him.
Brooks' acting is just fine. He just doesn't OVERact like most of his fellow starship captain's have tended to do.
It is real. I created it. And it's real! It's REAL!

DS-9 In my humble opinion would be "In the Pale Moonlight" this was Trek and Brooks at it's best.
Wow! Got it in one!My vote goes to Andy Dick who played the EMH Mk II in Voyager "Message in a Bottle" episode.

Okay, to some fans I've just committed blasphemy, but when I first saw that scene it just oozed Shatner-style cheese. I love Brooks performance most of the time, I think he is a great actor, but that one performance never worked for me, and it's the reason why I don't rate Far Beyond the Stars as highly as everyone else does.It is real. I created it. And it's real! It's REAL!
Other than that, Brooks IS the Sisko.
Most of the time Jadzia was just a pretty girl trying to seem smart, it was hard to see all the wisdom and experience Dax was supposed to have.
Someone's gonna say Scott Bakula, but I don't think he was miscast so much as sort of forced to take the character in a different direction than I wish he'd gone.
