Most Forgettable Episode

Time's Arrow two parter.

AKA: The One With Mark Twain

Nah. Nobody forgets that one. As was said above if you can call it "The one with/where" you've missed the mark.

A better one would be "Where No One Has Gone Before". You can't summarize it as "The One Where Wesley Sue Saved the Ship" because that's half the first season. It's not "The one where they get flung into deep space" because they also did that several times. It's not "the one" of really anything and while it gets a little trippy for roughly 3 minutes there's no stakes, no excitement and no reason to rewatch it.

The one with Beverly and the Ferengi scientist. Holy hell, what a bag of unremarkable poop.

I always think of it as "The One With The Traveller and That Jerk Who Wants To Re-Tune the Engines." I've always thought of it as one of the more memorable season one episodes.

Yes, it's the first episode that really shows promise of the series it would become. Definitely an early classic and one of those only first season episode that's worth a damn.

Yup. Suspicions. I'm not saying it's a bad episode. In fact, Given Bev's track record for quality, It's one of her better ones, but I can easily see how someone might not immediately recall it, even though it has the only Ferengi ever to be unconcerned with profit... Until Nog maybe

It's that one with the pompous D-bag know-it-all who actually knew nothing. Whether it's likable or not, I think that one stands out. It spawned a whole creepy gray guy with a Wesley fetish character arc, & the episode on the whole is pretty trippy. I too consider it one of the few episodes that carried the show into more seasons

All the kid shows from season 5 are forgettable although Hero Worship was OK.

All the family shows from season 7 should be forgotten. The one with Picard's son was the sequel to The Battle which no one wanted. I can't remember a single thing about that show.

I don't think "the one with" is a good criterion for "not forgettable enough". How else could we refer to a forgettable episode? Not by name, not without looking it up, that look up would be based on a "the one with"-type query.
Case in point: I found "New Ground" by searching for "the one with a new propulsion system".

It really has to be between New Ground and Interface ("the one with Geordi's mother"), I think.

The one with Picard's son was the sequel to The Battle which no one wanted. I can't remember a single thing about that show.

I'd put that one in the "bad" pile, to be honest. Unnecessary, cringeworthy in execution,...

The one with Scottish "spirit" that Crusher falls in love with. I can't even be bothered to look up the name of that one. It was terrible.

^But it wasn't forgettable. :p

does that mean to find an episode you need to go through a list of episodes. the one where you scream what the fuck is that get's nominated?

... this of course can only work if you are sure to have seen them all - the way to prove that is by writing them all down without looking on said list

Well, "forgettable" is probably best defined as "When it's on for some reason, I find myself texting or playing a mobile game on the side"... then this must go to an episode that's from the middle of the series and the middle of a season, because, at least for me, early series and early seasons have always had a special charm and thus hold my attention: new outfits, new additions to the show, etc. For instance, "Ensign Ro" the other day was notable because I was like "Hey that's when they changed the wall in the observation lounge" - skipped "Darmok" in case you're wondering.... Late series, late season is similar for some reason.

So candidates for this would be: Allegiance (Season 3) and Galaxy's Child (Season 4).

I'd forgotten about "Allegiance" until just now. :p

I remember "Galaxy's Child" easily enough for the real Leah Brahms. The alien baby plot is pretty forgettable though.

Think it easier to list the dozen or so good episodes.
Bad Trek is better than no Trek at all.

Somehow for me, most of the forgettable episodes are in the final season. It just felt like they'd run out of steam by then and had very few interesting plots.

By forgettable, I mostly meant episodes that don't leave any kind of mark. They came. They went, without much fanfare or noteworthiness. A truly bad episode is still remembered... worthy of noting. The Dauphin is pretty forgettable. I think Riker coming onto Guinan is about the only thing people even reflect on anymore

I didn't even remember that part of that episode. :p I did remember it as "The One Where Wesley's GF is a Shapeshifter"....but yeah, not memorable overall.

I wouldn't declare that one forgettable precisely because it's the one with the horrible drug speech and with the actors who played both David Marcus and Joachim.
