McCoy is a lot older than Kirk I'd say, Nyota! At least fifteen years or more! But I don't think an episode with Kirk falling for McCoy's daughter would have worked and it would have upset their relationship definitely!

Things would have been back to normal by the end of the episode, and it would all be forgotten in the next episode, since dramatic television wasn't in the serial format that's taken hold in recent years.

Hm, interesting. What's the canon on this? We know Kirk is 34 in The Deadly Years and Chekov is 22 in Who Mourns for Adonais. I always figured Bones and Scotty were both about ten years older than Kirk, mirroring Dee Kelley and Jimmy Doohan's ages at the time of filming.

McCoy is meant to be born 2227, according to Memory Alpha and Kirk 2233. If Kirk wanted to romance Bones daughter in his 30's he needs to be locked up!
P.S Makes TAS canon that Bones has a daughter a bit sad, leaving her on earth so he can wonder around space for years...neglectful dad!

The Old Mixer has it right. De Kelley was born in January of 1920 and Shatner was born in March of 1931 (just four days before Leonard Nimoy), so without checking when this episode was filmed, in 1968 Kelley would have been 48 and Shatner 37. Jimmy Doohan, BTW, was born in March of 1920, so without really knowing the canon ages of Spock, Bones, and Scotty, I guess that's why I always figured Scotty and Bones were about the same age and ten years or so older than both Kirk and Spock.

McCoy seems to be a little older than just ten or eleven years but then again I never knew he wore a syrup either!

Turnabout Intruder was the last and, I think, one of the worst episodes. The series ends w a thudding mess of misogynistic twaddle.

I have really grown to like "Turnabout Intruder" over the years. Mainly due to the performances by Shatner and Sandra Smith.
