Most boring books

Oh jeez, I can't believe I forgot The Silmarillion. That things damn near unreadable as far as I'm concerned.

Great Expectations, good story, but to read the book... ugh!

Oh, btw: Moby Dick is my favourite book. :p

I do. I think Paradise Lost is bloody awesome!

I used to surreptituously read Paradise Lost in school to stave off boredom (it was that or pretend to understand Maths.)

I think it'd be fair to lump the sequel Paradise Regained into a boring list, though, if anyone actually considered it a classic...

Almost anything by Anne Rice. I tried reading one of her books some years back and I couldn't get through it. Also, anything by John Grisham. His books are just too technically law oriented, so it's easy to get lost while reading them and then just not understand them at all.

I'll second Thomas Mann's work. I found maybe one interesting moment in "Tonio Kroeger" and that's about it. His other stories I read weren't any better.
