Most beautiful ships in Trek?

I liked the idea of neck for the emergency separation possibilities the TNG writers were so in love with. lol

I like the Nova class (here in a TrekCore screencap from VOY: Equinox). Right: U.S.S. Voyager (mesh by Sarod)

Of all the ships of Star Trek, here are the one I think is the most beautiful:

1.Enterprise: Star Trek XI
2.Enterprise Refit: Star Trek TMP-TSFS
3.Enterprise A: Star Trek TVH-TUC
4.Enterprise:TOS
5.Jellyfish: Star Trek XI

no question, the intrepid class. finally a design (apart from the defiant), that makes sense.

While my favorite is the new Enterprise, I must admit that I agree with your statement. Voyager was intended to be smaller than the Galaxy class ships with a smaller crew. I think the design worked. Beauty is subjective, but as far as making sense... yes, it does. Intrepid class does look as though it would be more solid. Because it is a smaller ship there is no need for the saucer to separate.

I absolutely loved the flapping nacelles, the lovely deep, clunky sound they made when they folded was sublime.

1. Enterprise Refit (A)
2. Enterprise (D)
3. Enterprise (C)
4. Excellsior (not E-B)
5. Nebula (weapons pod, not AWACS)

Honorable Mention - NX Enterprise.. just made sense.. well thought out..

Looks like a shovel.

Seriously, these Enterprise era Vulcan ships made me want to orgasm.
Whenever I was watching Enterprise, I would pray Vulcans would pop up for some contrived reason just so I could see their beautiful ring ships.

Such beauty :D

The ones that spring to mind...

- The Excelsior; It's a wonderful design and some angles are spectacular.

- The Akira; Not all of it's angles are godly, but it is one of the most fascinating, nicer looking and fresh designs. The NX verion was nice too, but not as nice as the original.

- The Centaur; for the few minutes it was on screen, it looked amazing. A less clunky (even in the close up shots I've got on my hard drive) and sleaker design than the Miranda counterpart and one of the few kitbashes that work for me.

- Vulcan ship from First Contact; I have no idea what the name is, but it's fascinating to look at. A nice and unique design that looks incredible.

- The 'new' Enterprise; Getting a model of this ship was a wonderful gift this Christmas. So much retro and new in one shape, the only thing that pissed me off about it was tha now I have a model on my shelf - I can see so many angles that it looks incredible from - none of which were on screen!

Hmm, for me personally I'm going with the Galaxy and Constitution refit classes for the Feds.

Out of the alien ships, I'd say the Xindi Aquatic.

the struts between fuselage and nacelles are solid. the broomsticks that connect the parts of the constitution class etc don't look thrustworthy. more like the nacelles flying off alone when the helm feeds gas. that's awesome forces to accelerate a million ton ship from zero to 1/4 impulse (lightspeed), or to be hit by torpedoes. the borg vessels have the most reasonable design.

Ok, two points:

1) The. Nacelles. Aren't. Rocket. Engines.
B) I've worked with a ton of remote-control model aircraft, and sometimes some of the more spindly looking structures can be the most efficient and reliable.
III) If your shields are down, it shouldn't matter what shape your ship is because any of your opponents armaments can blast any part of your ship apart in seconds.

The Abramsprise. (the only thing I don't like are the nacelles) I love how the secondary hull has a very "submarine retro scifi" look to it and the saucer pretty much looks like the refit Enterprise saucer from the earlier ST movies.

I like the refit Enterprise from the movies quite a bit too, but again, I don't like the nacelles, I always liked the TOS style nacelles better than everything that came after.
