I'm not sure about back in the day, but Newmar's Catwoman and Yvonne Craig's Batgirl have a disproportionate impact on me today.

The first TV characters I remember being excited by as I entered adolescence were Athena (Maren Jensen) from Battlestar Galactica and Wilma (Erin Grey) from Buck Rogers.

In my case, throw in Angelique (Lara Parker) on the original DARK SHADOWS.
*high five* :techman:

Indeed. Angelique from the original Dark Shadows was my first real crush. I named my daughter after her. :luvlove:

Angelique! Oh my yes. Then Kate Jackson showed up later and stole my heart away from Angelique.

Wow. Who knew there was so many Lara Parker fans on this board?

Too bad she never guested on Trek . . ..

Although it's ambiguous whether Barbara Baldavin's character in "Turnabout Intruder" was actually Angela. She was credited that way, but called Lisa in the episode. (Baldavin was also in deleted scenes filmed for "Space Seed.")
I like to think she remarried and now her name is Angela Lisa. :)

What section did her character work in in Space Seed?

Out of those three Uhura wins.

My favorite TOS babe was Yeoman Tamura though.....

TOS has so many beauties it's hard to agree with the "more that 3 appearances" requisite. But then again otherwise it would be hard to choose, because TOS has so many beauties.

... Although it's really just a "more than 1 significant appearance" requisite...

Angela Martine got 2 or 3 appearances, but only in one was she significant.

Of the three options, honestly, none ever appealed to me.

So many of the ladies that had only one appearance were so much more attractive in my eyes.

Not much choice, but Uhura. Didn't care for the other two and Uhura wasn't given much to shine, operating the Enterprise's switchboard and rarely going on away missions or seeing action (that didn't involve being hit with the stupefaction ray from Nomad), but she conveyed quiet strength. She didn't have to be outspoken. She was tough but didn't carry the attitude with her most of the time (as Kira did).

In all of TOS... Helen Noel. Little contest. To make a list of top 10 of TOS I'd really have to think about it and watch all the episodes again. I'm only partway through a grand Star Trek rewatch on shuffle (I'd highly recommend it, even within just one series, if you've already seen the series in order. Let's you see differences in acting between the seasons, really noticeable in TNG, and judge episodes without the surrounding episodes weighing in on it (certain Voyager episodes are most changed by this, like "Flesh and Blood" without seeing "Repression", "Inside Man", "Body and Soul"). Just don't watch all the good episodes and then get progressively worse. Bounce around at random).

Honestly, I don't get what the people on this board see in Marianna Hill (Helen Noel). I mean, sure, she wasn't bad-looking, and definitely quite curvaceous, but there are plenty of other TOS guest actresses I find more beautiful. I was going to make a list, but it was getting rather long before I even got to the second season.

My vote goes to Uhura. I don't think it was planned this way from the beginning because Rand was supposed to have a bigger role but I do think it is really cool that Uhura, a woman of color, became the central female character of the original series.

I do wish her role was somewhat bigger than it was but it was still a nice role to have. And I think the role she played in encouraging other women is beautiful indeed.

I don't doubt that at all. TOS had no shortage of beautiful female guest stars. ;)

I completely agree! I hadn't even registered her as anything other than one convenient proof that Christmas still existed in the 23rd century. It was this BBS that informed me she was a great beauty etc..

Mariette Hartley and Teri Garr were my girl crushes when I first watched TOS.

As people here have already pointed out, many of the guest actresses are way more attractive than the (three) regulars - I don´t find either of them particularly attractive during TOS. But I vote for Janice Rand, since I really like the way she looks in TMP.

We did this poll over at HobbyTalk recently, but yes, listing ALL the hot spacebabe guest stars. Sherry Jackson won hands down, even over Marianna Hill.
Meh, Sherry Jackson was all about the costume. Leslie Parrish for me.

Well, the costume certainly got my attention, but then those awesome eyes and perfect lips took over.

Of course, under no circumstances would I argue against Leslie Parrish!
