Most annoying Christmas songs

I'm wondering if asome those mentioned are "American things" as I haven't heard of a lot of them.

Another of mine-
Wizard- I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day
(even has the Jimmy Saville intro )

SO annoying. It's on ALL THE FRAKKING TIME every where you go. Christmas every day? God, its bad enough every year

Oh, and Band Aid's- Do They Know It's Christmas

That's just shite plain and simple. And frankly offensive too

There's also that Dan Fogelberg one that makes me want to throw bricks at puppies.

:guffaw::guffaw:QFT!!!

Ooo, I forgot all about that one. Thanks so much for reminding me. :scream:

Another one I don't like is Jim Brickman's The Gift. One mention of snow and referring to your love as a gift does not a Christmas song make. Hell, they play it all year round on the lite rock station here.

'Once in Royal David's City' is an appalling piece of victorian propaganda designed to control innocent children. But I don't suppose that's what you meant.

The little drummer boy - doesn't matter who sings it, it just makes time seem to stand still for the duration.
Agreed.

Last christmas -same thing.
Thought you were nuts on this one until I realized what song you were talking about. That song is the most annoying song period.

Feed the world (do they know it's christmas?)-I seriously HATE :brickwall: that kind of song.
This one drives me batty. And they play it about every half hour. :scream:

My Christmas song "shit list"

* Any song performed by Mariah Carey
* The Twelve Days of Christmas by the Muppets  I swear to God, when I was a kid, Miss Piggy and her companions gave me the creeps. She has the most horrendous fictional voice.
* Jingle Bells (Dog Version) - "Arf-arf-arf! Arf-arf-arf! Arf-arf-arf-arf-arf!" It's only funny the first couple of times you hear it; then it gets really old.
* I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas and other whacky Christmas songs written by imbeciles and have nothing to do with the holidays whatsoever.

"Rockin Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee always reminds me of "Home Alone." :D I like the song.

And I love "Feliz Navidad!"

But back to "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer." Anyone remember the gawdawful video that accompanied it at one point? Know how they ended it? Grandma wasn't really dead! She got up, she and grandpa embraced, awwwww!

I never thought the video could be worse than the travesty of the song, but they found a way.

I loved watching Home Alone 1 and 2 on video (it was a part of my yearly holiday routine). In fact, being an immigrant, I first heard Brenda Lee's Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree in the first movie and has loved it since then.

As for Elmo and Patty's Grandma Got Run Over ..., heck, that's one of my favorite Christmas songs!

"So This Is Christmas". (At least, I assume that's the title.) It's the musical accompaniment for some late-night infomercial we get up here every year for Unicef or some other organization that wants everyone to feed big-eyed African orphans. But they don't stop playing the commercial, or change the music, after Christmas. No! In freaking MAY of this year, they were still playing it with "So This Is Christmas" as the accompaniment! :brickwall:

Last christmas, i gave you my heart...
Blah...

"The Christmas Shoes" by Newsong has got to be the most cloying, saccharine-sweet POS holiday tune of them all.

I agree!, Is this a new song?, I had never heard of this song before, but the radio station we listen to at work plays this every day, and I must say that it's a terrible song!

And the idea that God put a kid with a dying mother in front of the que just to get the singer into the Christmas spirit is horrible.

I think my favorite part of the video is the other guys in the group standing around doing absolutely nothing but awkwardly staring off into space the entire time. They even have a bunch of kids as background singers at the end, but they don't let the other guys sing even then.

Well, the song got turned into a TV movie starring Rob Lowe in 2002, so at least 6 years and I seem to remember hearing it for at least the past decade.

I think that video from my link includes scenes from the telefilm, though frankly I could only watch about 7 seconds before I felt the urge to puke.

oh, in that case I'm glad I have been missing out on this song

But yeah, terrible terrible song, I must imagine so is the movie.
