most "alien" moment?

Normally in Star Trek, the crew just encounter people from the planet "bumpyhead", however once in a while they encounter something truly "alien" - such as this - this really scared me out as a kid (something that trek rarely does because the aliens are generally so human):

What in Star Trek strikes you as "alien"?

I'd like to watch it but no Youtube in China today. Hm....

I think the shows are more about our own cultural values than anything else, so "aliens" are presented on those terms more often. It's hard to find something as genuinely alien as say, other human cultures on Earth.

I've always loved Galaxy's child.

Oh sure - Star Trek is really very weak on the sci-fi aspects (and very conservative in how it applies it's sci-fi concepts) and I wouldn't suggest for a minute that the show shouldn't generally be about us but now and again something a bit more alien would be nice.

We learn nothing about them and never see them again...

I loved these aliens and the episode itself, "Silent Enemy", was pretty good as well.

As for most alien I'd say the non-corporeal lifeforms encountered throughout Trek and a species like the Horta. I also really liked ENT's the Xindi.

Off the top of my head, the Horta and the organism in ENT's "Vox Sola" are pretty alien and decidedly non-forehead-y. The little pipe-cleaner creatures (making baby-alligator noises :D ) at the end of "Cat's Paw" I always thought were cool.

The space ameoba and the flying fried eggs that killed Kirk's brother and sister-in-law.

Both from TOS. The subsequent series didn't really get that much into truly alien looking aliens. ENT brought it back somewhat when they did the episode with the giant weblike alien entity that took over engineering.

The Sheliak, Nagilum, the "Space Whales" and the Conspiracy parasites are just as alien as any of those, and they are all from TNG.

Any of the energy beings were the most alien to me. The creature from Obsession was my favorite of these. They weren't even able to communicate with it. The Crysaline entity did a good job. I liked the bird-puppet things from the end of Catspaw. Obvioiusly the Horta. However, once they made contact and Spock mind-melded, it lost some of its alien-ness to me. Of course, the communication and cooperation was the point of the episode, so I don't know how they would have been able to change that.
I liked what they were trying to do with the alien in that Abraham Lincoln episode, but I think it ended up having too much of a human silouette.

Armus, who was later reused as the Sheliak. He's an oil spill of pure, unadulterated evil. That's not just alien... that's, well, nonsensically weird.

Aside from those already mentioned, Species 8472 strikes me as very alien. I also remember an unknown alien species in Voyager, which looked like a big shrimp (and attached itself to B'elanna).
