Mortal Kombat Rebirth Short (Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan)

That is pretty fuckin' crazy. :lol: I hope it gets turned into a new film.
 
It is an interesting take on Mortal Kombat, but I personally don't like it. I think that the supernatural elements are an important part of the MK mythology. It just isn't the same without Outworld, Goro, ect.
 
It's not clear on if those aspects are going to be included or not...how do you know they won't find their way into the film? This was just a test footage short film to wet fans appetites and I for one am very interested in it and loved the re-imagining of the characters while still keeping the concept of the global tournament. As a friend said we have no idea how anything else fits into this version but I loved this.
 
Johnny Cage sure gets shit on in these movies.

I saw both MK movies (wait, there was only two, right?) at discount theaters. The second one was pretty bad, except for Musetta Vander. :adore:
 
Not bad... not bad at all !!! I wasn't hot about a new film (actually, I hated the two first), but this teaser makes me want to see more.

Yeah I commented to my friend about Johnny Cage (he was my favorite character from the games and the original movie) and I had a geekasm as soon as Jeri Ryan walked into the room. Seriously this film needs to be made. I knew that there had been a fourth film in development hell for the longest time but it was called something else. This seems to be an entirely new concept and if it's anything like what the movie will be like it will kick the updated Street Fighter's ass.
 
Nice! Very Se7en-esque. Now if they would only properly remake another Street Fighter film. Fanfilm short or not. Hopefully something other than Ryu and Ken "fighting" in the woods.
 
Is Tekken coming out in US Theaters or is it just a straight to DVD thing? I was hoping for better...if they make MK like in the short it will kick SF & Tekken's ass. :lol:

I always liked him after I managed to double flawless Shao Khan with him.:techman:

I don't know if I like MK that dark and stark, I mean this was more like Thrill Kill or something with the whole serial killer angle.
 
Kevin Tancharoen is Maurissa Tancharoen's, of Dr. Horrible, Dollhouse and Spartacus fame, brother and is, as such, a member of the extended Whedon family (as Mo is married to Joss' brother Jed).

Very, very surreal trailer with Seven of Sonya, the ridiculous hyper-violence, and that bloke from that rubbish Spawn movie doing a briefing in a graverly trailer voice, it could be OK, but I've always had a softer spot for Street Fighter from the mid 90s that featured the late Raul 'OF COURSE!!!' Julia as General Bison.
