Mortal Combat vs. DCU

I think the commercial looks pretty cool. I have a hard time believing Superman would engage in Mortal Combat though. Everytime he punches somebody would be mortal, but the superhero types are usually so against killing that it seems a little odd. I really want to play the game though. What is your opinion of the game? I don't know if it is out yet, but you might have seen the commercial.

Superman is weak against magic, that would explain why magic would hurt him, but not why he can't move super fast or punch a whole through a mile of concrete (and nearly anyone he faces, let alone some 130 lb female ninja. If he's in Outworld fighting maybe he's supposed to be nerfed or something. Doesn't really matter, it's a video game. I don't pretend to understand why Chun Li can beat up the Incredible Hulk in MvsC, just roll with it.

Someone like Batman would seem to fit in a lot better.

I just bought the game from Best Buy. Unfortunately, I have a huge Latin test tomorrow(Wheelocks Latin, 6th edition). My Xbox 360 is also about 25 miles away at my place. I'm writing from my girlfriend's place. I'll play it over the weekend. I was torn between the Force Unleashed and Fallout 3 as alternative options.

The Force Unleashed got really old for me after not much play. It's cool to have all these AWESIMO FORCE POWERS at first, but the game play is repetitive and in the end I just couldn't shake the feeling that I had just played through some 14 year old SW fan's fanwank. I'd take Fallout 3 for a single player experience over TFU.

I hope you have plenty of friends to play MK vs. DCU with. I loved the original Soul Calibur on Dreamcast and bought the latest version for my Xbox 360 only to come to find I didn't have the time not that many friends still willing to come over for an afternoon of bloodshed. And no, internet gaming is not a substitute, I'm tired of being called racist epithets when I beat someone.

I've been playing the story mode and I'm having fun. The story is a little thin, but you play all the different characters and that is entertaining. You get to choose your side, either superheroes or Mortal Kombat guys. When I was the Flash and Batman, I didn't really know any moves and would just stumble into them. Later I found the moves menu and it was fun playing Captain Marvel. I really enjoyed using his bearhug followed by the lightning bolt.

Basically you run into the different characters and they immediately challenge you to a fight. I already fought Raiden with Captain Marvel and gave him a vicious beat down.

It's fun but they made Superman far weaker than he should be, and made all the MK guys far too strong. In fact it's almost not worth it playing most of the DC guys. Although Batman is pretty unbeatable if you use him right.

I have a feeling some entity (similar to the Excaliban) told the respective universes the same story, that one is going to take over the other. Eventually, they find out the truth and the good guys from each universe join forces and fight the bad guys from each universe.

Yeah, the Khan thing was great. I got a kick out of Jokers shocker handshake and bombs too. Wonder Woman's jiggly boobs were nice too, but her face could have been better. I liked her whole splits grab and lasso grab. I beat the Story part of the game really fast. I haven't played the MK side of it yet. Superman was severally depowered, but if he wasn't then it wouldn't last very long. Heat vision wasn't that great, but I did enjoy using it.
