NuMorn could be that guy that walks into a bar and the bartender asks "Why the long face?" ;)
Don't listen to Jeri. ;) I liked that joke.

Sorry for going off-topic, M'Sharak, but I need to tell my favorite "[blank] walks into a bar" joke:
A grasshopper walks into a bar. The bartender looks amused and says,
"Hey, you're famous around here! -- in fact, we have a drink named after you."
To which the confused grasshopper says, "What? -- You have a drink named Bob?"

Back on topic....
It truly is an unfair comparison. It's like asking "who do you like better -- Garak or the redshirt vaporized by a lightening bolt in 'The Apple'?"

Of couse the answer would be Garak, but if lightening bolt redshirt had a chance to become a recurring character on TOS, it is possible that he may have become popular.

By the way -- they should have cast George Wendt as nuMorn.

Morn, of course, since he was original. But I thought NuMorn was a good thumbs up to Morn. Glad I'm not the only one who thought of this.

I dig the updated salt vampire. That's groovy.
The salt vampire doesn't need updating, it was already ahead of its time. Am I the only one who noticed the fact that it took male and female forms alternately and used its wiles to seduce human men and women? And the scientist lived with it as his wife even though he knew what it was... Interesting...

Salt vampire - Trek's first transgender, or should that be pangender character? :alienblush:

I never said the original was awful. > _ > it just doesn't stand up to high-definition viewing. This is basically the same thing, with some details shifted about and a slightly extra ick factor added.

I wonder if the salt vampire was at the Klingon prison - based on the clothes.

nuMorn's name, as it turns out, is "Brian" - according to Cinefex. The bronze, scarified alien chick on the bridge of the Enterprise is "Madelyn."
