More Sarah Jane?

I agree, it can't be like Doctor Who, it needs more Maria. Even if she isn't in every episode, I think she needs to at least be around.

I have to say I thought she was the weak link in the first series. Rani is a vast improvement.

I like The Sarah Jane Chronicles. :D

is that like the Sarah Connor Adventures?

They're different. SJC has Sarah Jane and the kids, together with Mr Smith the talking computer challenging Terminators sent from the future by SkyNet.

SCA on the other hand is about a moody mother, an angsty teenager and a robot ambushing and shooting Sontarans, Trickesters, Siltheen and other aliens from space.

Interesting comparison considering that this week's Sarah Jane Adventures had a plot fairly similar to the entire Terminator premise of people going from the future to the past in order to effect some kind of allegedly positive change...

The BBC Press Office has released information about plans for 2009, confirming that a third series of Sarah Jane is forthcoming:
On CBBC, Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) returns for a third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures in Autumn 2009, produced by Doctor Who supremo Russell T Davies.
Together with her companions Rani and Clyde and her adopted son Luke, Sarah Jane once again comes face to face with a whole host of weird and wonderful alien beings.
Obviously things might still change in the next year, but this is a very good sign. And the mention of RTD isn't an error: he's said that he'll continue to oversee the spinoffs even after leaving Doctor Who.
