I really, and I mean really want to see this movie.
I am excited, and there's too many months to go!

Wow!!
Does anyone else think that the bridge looks a little more advanced than the series this movie is supposed to be PRE-dating. I hope there is a reason for that becouse IMO it really ruins a prequal when they make that mistake.

Really? Never even noticed!!! ;)

Actually, I think most people have accepted that and were looking forward to what they could do (before we saw the pics at least haha.) We know things are going to be updated, you can't get away from that what so ever. It's a 2007 vision of the thing after all, not 1967 anymore. I think more people have a problem with the design itself rather than it being updated (which if they kept with the jelly buttons/blocky design it would have been laughable.)

*Sigh* The old ENT rant. Ahem... this movie is being released in 2009 not 1966. :bolian:

Looking at the bigger hi-res version of Sulu, to me this looks like a bridge shot and he may be at his station. Note the possible Astogator incorporated on the bottom right. Also, along with that, it looks as if the viewer is a full heads up display this time rather than just an all purpous screen. There even looks to be a couple of lights at the base of the screen.

Now compare that to this shot which alslo looks like the bridge, take not of the new 'plexiglass' divides behind Saldana and the way the viewer curves, looks like a bridge image to me. Also showing a kind of heads up display.

Heres another couple of shots i have just found...

20081017_Sulu2.jpg

Looks like an angry or pissed Sulu, maybe he whips out the Samurai after this and goes ape shit.

20081017McCoy.jpg

McCoy and Kirk on what looks like either the approach to the ship or a generic scene where they are being ferried somewhere, but the look on their faces, like children out of a coach window, suggests otherwise. Yea yeah, its already in another but i didnt know that. lol. Im editing now after i said i was editing in the other thread.

Scrutinise the reflection all you want, i see nothing.:p

Where the hell did this black speculation start, ive missed it somewhere.

In those heavily photoshopped promo poster images where each member of the crew
is in a quadrant of the delta shape, some people thought Pegg looked black. I
never thought he looked black, but the heavy red photoshop recoloring confused
some people.

Ahhh, i see.

And no...

I never thought he looked black in that poster either. But still, if Simon Pegg isnt that well known out side of Enlgland on the whole so i understand the, err, miss understanding.

Is anyone else annoyed that we get that one shot of ALMOST all the characters together, but that Spock isn't in the group?

PS
I'd like to thank beaker for posting MOSTLY images that fit in the normal width of the thread window (so it doesn't get widened), and say "grrrr" to Vigo for using over-wide versions that DO cause widening.

Sorry, i posted the large hi-res to compare the features of the set. Ill nip in and edit if you want.:)

Besides, ive just cropped the main bridge image for that purpous, so i can always just crop those ones above.

EDIT: Thats better, couldnt be bothered to crop them so i uploaded the original sized ones i had.

...now I'm confused. Am I the only one getting the entire thread stretched by
beaker's first post? The bridge and Sulu pics are next to eachother, so the thread
has been stretched to hell since post one.

Must be, mines fine, my images are now pretty much the exact same size as Beakers.

Exactly.

Which is why i just whipped this up in paint quickly and crudely.

Now which one would like to see in a multi million dollar movie. The funky retro sleek looking version or the soap box version.

My car looks more advanced than the series the film is predating. Actually, that's a lie, I don't have a car.

I'm definitely looking forward to this movie. Trek needed an outside perspective, and I'm glad they chose TOS era. I will miss the 60's vision of the future though.
