More Nimoy in sequels?

RoJoHen

Awesome
Admiral
How do you feel about having Nimoy in the sequels? Does Old Spock have a greater place in this new universe, or should we just leave well enough alone?

boy that's a tough one. Between Nimoy, Abrams, Orci, and Kurtzman, I think they could find a tasteful way to include him, but I'm sure they would omit him if they thought his presence would detract from the story.

Leave well enough alone.

I'm tempted to say Kill him off and have Quinto's Spock dealing with the death of his future self. But you can't kill Spock. He's forever.

I wouldn't mind learning more about the Vulcan colony world or maybe the Klingons want Spock for his knowledge of what is to come and the Enterprise has to rescue him. To be truly evil the Klingon Commander should be Gorkon.

I'd rather they use this as his graceful bow and hand off, in much the way Generations was intended to be for Kirk.

I tend to agree, but I just love Nimoy's Spock. He's probably one of my favorite characters of all time. I could watch him all day.

I think they should definitely have Nimoy in the next for one final scene in which Quinto's Spock kills Nimoy...then it will be officially final.

That is the single worst idea I have ever read.

Unless...Old Spock and nuSpock are both going through pon farr and one needs to kill the other!

They could always have some modern day baddie find out about future Spock and kidnap him to try to make him reveal future secrets and technology and shit, and have the Enterprise have to rescue him.

I dunno, I think they need to be on their own first. Maybe do 2 on their own, and have Nimoy back for a small part in 3.

To me, it really depends on how much future movies will focus on the Vulcans and how they rebuild their society.

I also get the feeling reading/listening to Nimoy interviews, he needed to be dragged out for this one, but was convinced it would be quality. I don't know that he is interested in sequels.

As much as I would like to see him again I must be honest with myself and admit he's no longer necessary. As he himself has say, the Universe will unfold as it should.

If they find a good way to necessitate his return, excellent. If not, fine.

I also read that after making this movie, he said he would definitely play Spock again if the story required it. So who knows? After all these years, I trust Leonard Nimoy to play the character right. If he doesn't like his place in the story, he won't return.

It's time to sign over the car to the kids and let them have their fun.

Spock Prime should never be mentioned again. He should be quietly assumed to be off on New Vulcan, doing his thing, just as we assumed he was on Romulus doing his thing for so many years in timeline prime.

I love the guy...heck I love all of the guys and gals from Trek Prime, but, that time is clearly over.

Time for the new guys to shine.

I'm conflicted. On the one hand, it would be great for the new Magnificnet Seven to stand on their own and go off on new adventures. But on the other hand, JJ, Kurtzman, and Orci have done something in Trek that hasn't been done in a long time: They've created a cameo that wasn't forced and fanwanky (*cough*Admiral Janeway*cough) and actutally contributed to overall story. I guess that I wouldn't be upset either way. If Old Spock is there helping out with the reestablishment of Vulcan, then cool. If not, it will be great to see Kirk and the crew on their next adventure without him.
