More Godzilla

Lt. Trull

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
I sit here hanging my head in shame for the thought with a big grin on my face wondering aloud if there will be more Godzilla movies now that the radiation release has happened in japan.

There are plans in place for a return to the franchise...but yeah the situation in Japan could have derailed them for the time being. I just read a few days ago that a new project had been green lit.

There is an American version of Godzilla being made coming out next year. But I do wonder if the tragedy in Japan makes Godzilla a difficult subject for a Japanese made movie?

Well, seeing as the original Gojira was intended as a direct metaphor to the hidden potential/dangers of nuclear power, I imagine that this would play right into it, honestly...

^^ Right there with ya, boss.. The original movie came out what? 10, 12 years after the bombs were dropped.. I think it will probably be a while before we see a Japan-made movie, but I bet it won't be that long.. Of course, not matter when it comes out, there will be cries of "Too soon!!"

But how soon does one make a Godzilla movie after this tragedy without it being insensitive?
