DS9 is mentioned in Insurrection.
As were the Dominion (in fact I think they were mentioned in Nemesis too...
DS9 is mentioned in Insurrection.
I was a big fan of Enterprise and enjoyed the winks as well. That said, I doubt we'll actually see Admiral Archer in a future movie.
So is DS9 the only Trek series that hasn't been mentioned in one of the movies? Or was there some reference to it in one of the TNG films?
For putting Scotty on an iceball for six months because he experimented with Archer's beagle? Scotty could have been scrubbing the garbage holds of freighters for six months. What would have been worse?I was a big fan of Enterprise and enjoyed the winks as well. That said, I doubt we'll actually see Admiral Archer in a future movie.

Pity Archer, in the JJ universe anyhow, became a douche.
That's really not a sudden development created by JJ's writing team! I'll spare you horror of having to sit through "A Night in Sickbay" again. He can be prickly where his beloved beagle is concerned. Or actually whenever somebody with pointy-ears opens their mouth... Although in fairness, there he's often only giving back as good as he's getting.Pity Archer, in the JJ universe anyhow, became a douche.

Ever consider the fact that Scotty might have taken liberty with Archer's dog and experimented without his authorization because he needed a live specimen. For putting Scotty on an iceball for six months because he experimented with Archer's beagle? Because of an accident with a dog?Darn dog could have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, like he took a wizz on the equipment, and bam, vanished. And if Archer's become one of those folks who treats his dog better than most people, he better than his lucky stars no on Starfleet saw "The Kipper and the Corpse".
And he was banished to a planet where one can get killed either by the extreme cold, or by big, fury monsters with large, point teeth.
Pity petty minded thinking, senility probably kicked in for Archer.
Ehhhh....doubt you'll see a Paxton......apart from cheesy, useless stuff like Sulu's fencing followed by cheesy grin, or names of planets from the original (better) universe....but wrong planets.....I don't think we'll see JJ give the long time Trek fans any service....apart from loose name drops or something.
Long as they don't get stupid and beam a maniacal tyrant bent on ruling the universe on board, they should be okay. And FGS, don't sit there and watch a ship being sucked into a black hole and think nothing's going to happen. Where the hell was the female who previously said, "The black hole's expanding. We won't reach minimum safe distance if we don't leave immediately."Yeah, Scotty was about as safe in the outpost as anyone is in a starship.
As has already been pointed out, the Defiant's appearance in First Contact is a pretty big DS9 reference. Also, when Worf oversleeps in that film, Picard says "I don't know how they do it on Deep Space Nine, but..."I was a big fan of Enterprise and enjoyed the winks as well.
